Ahoy fellow cruisers:

We are a family of 3, one DD 6 years old. We have a 7 day Eastern booked on the Magic for early December and have been assigned room 5126, a category 6 verandah. Has anybody ever been in this area of the ship and have any advice? I have read about this cabin on the Wonder and it didn't have very good reviews. Is it possible to request a different room and if so what verandah room would you recommend?? Also, we are traveling with another family of 4 and our ressies are linked with them so we can be close together. They currently have a guaranteed cat 6, no room assignment. I know only certain cat 6's can sleep four. Does anybody have any input as to what I should ask for? BTW, we are booked through DU and have a great TA. What should I do? Somebody please help me with my Disney obsessiveness!! :rotfl:

We have stayed in 5133 and have booked it again. Love it! Deck 5 aft is great. Short hallway, close to elevators, theater, kids clubs plus we used the stairs most of the time to dinner, shopping, etc. We have stayed on deck2 also, and much prefer 5 with the shorted hallways.

Thanks for the info lds0191! Anybody know anything about noise back there?? I'm a light sleeper so I'm worried about cabin noise. :scared:

Just remember; it's only one person's opinion, and it looks to be from quite awhile ago too.

More than once I've seen someone post that a certain stateroom was noisy only to have several other folks say that they stayed in the same room and had no noise issues at all and in fact loved the location.

Hopefully someone who has experience with that stateroom will see your post and give you more info.

We've stayed on the other end of Deck 5, but just wanted to chime in that Deck 5 is great & it looks like a great location. You won't be too far down the hallway. Deck 5 feels less crowded than the other decks. We were over the theaters & never heard a thing.

Enjoy where ever you choose to stay!

We've stayed in that area on the Magic twice and loved it!

Thanks a lot GrumpyMom1 and DVC Mary! :cloud9: It sounds like a pretty decent spot! I did notice that on the deck 5 layout it looks less crowded than other locations.
Does anybody know where the cat 6's that sleep 4 are located?? We have a family of 4 in a cat 6 linked to our ressies.

I have no idea why anyone would say that's not a good cabin or a good location. In my opinion, it's an EXCELLENT one! Not quite as good as 5122, which only has one neighbor, but still in a perfect spot. A short hallway means little hallway traffic/noise, and you're conveniently located near the aft elevators but not close enough to have any disturbance from them. I am a major deck 5 aft person, although I prefer being farther back than most people prefer. But 5126 is a perfect spot!

Thanks inkkognito! It now sounds like we got a great location!! In the pic in your signature your verandah wall (the part that stops you from falling off the deck, not sure what it's called.:) ) is plexiglass. Are the deck 5 cat 6's like that?? I thought I read somewhere on here that the the deck 5 cat 6's are solid and not see-through like the one in your pic. Or should I say does it really matter which one we get? I kind of like the idea of the see-through one. Any inof would greatly help my cruise obsession!! :goodvibes

And don't forget when you get back to add your review to the Stateroom Reviews! It is really a helpful tool when folks use it! We've made sure to add reviews after each of our previous cruises.

We have walked the length of the ship on each deck several times and I've always thought Deck 5 would be good to stay on. I liked the seclusion of the cabin area - it feels a lot more private and definitely little traffic.

5126 has the plexiglass verandah

5142, 5144, 5146, 5148, 5150
5642, 5644, 5646, 5648, 5650
are the deck 5 aft cabins with solid walls

On deck 5 (and 6) it's the cat. 6 rooms aft of the nav. verandahs that have the solid walls. Yours is forward of those, so you are all set with a plexiglass verandah. You're gonna love it back there! I always recommend deck 5 and I've lost count of how many converts I've made. It's one of the best kept secrets.

I will definitely do that, I've been wishing for a while now that there were some more cabin reviews! Thanks nzdisneymom!

Ooohh, I'm getting really excited now!! I really wanted the plexiglass verandah!! Now if only the 8 months could go by very quickly!
