Our GTY just changed to stateroom 2520 on the Magic. This is listed as one of the noisy staterooms -- has anyone here ever stayed in it? Any good or bad experiences?

Thanks!

stayed in this stateroom on one of our first cruises- very very noisy....directly below one of the clubs....

see if DCL can hook you up with a better stateroom.....

This room is probably right underneath the Promenade Lounge, where they hold many events late into the night. Dancing and Discos.....The lounge is right next to Parrot Cay. Lumiere's, Beat Street and the Atrium are the only other major gathering places on the 3rd deck.

I stayed in 2518 last March on the Magic which is immediately next to 2520. It's nowhere near the Promenade lounge but rather right under Diversions. There were no loud activities in Diversions during my 7 night cruise and the only noise came from the little girl (who sometimes cried) staying next door in 2518.

There was little traffic in the halls as well and I found it to be such a comfortable spot on the ship that I booked a room just slightly further forward from 2518/20 for my next cruise.

As you move aft (towards the rear of the ship) of 2520 - another 8-10 cabins or so - you could definitely hear some thumping bass noises from Rockin' Bar D above. Or such was my experience in the evenings when walking down the deck 2 hallways. Again, 2520 is under Diversions - not Rockin' Bar D which is the source of most of the loud music.

I *think* Diversions on the Magic used to be a dualing piano bar before the Magic was refurbished last fall which might explain prior reports of noise.

My only complaint on 2518/20 is the door that joined the 2 rooms. I think it carried the sound a bit more between the staterooms. Whilst the crying little girl might've annoyed me for a second or two in the morning - it wasn't a problem and at no point did I wish I were elsewhere on the ship.

Thanks, everyone. And thanks, Sam -- you've quelled my fears. I did look at a ship map and saw that the room was under Diversions, but wasn't sure if Diversions would be loud or not. You've definitely made me feel better! :)

As for crying children, all I hear is the sounds of my 1 and 4 year olds; I can't imagine anyone else's kids making more noise than my own. :)

Marcy,
We love this part of the ship. We stayed in 2530/28 last Jan and we are scheduled for 2522 and 2524 nex Jan. The area was quiet and we loved the location. Don't worry and just look forward to a wonderful vacation!

Our first time on the Wonder we were in 2522 and it was not noisy at all. Very good location, close to elevators, just an all around good area we thought. In fact, for our next cruise it was already booked so we took the closest to it, and ended up getting an upgrade to cat 6 which was great too. I would rebook 2522 in a heartbeat, and being that it is just next door to 2520 I would think we would have heard some of the noise if it was bad.
