Magic Room Location help!!

Hello All!

I have a question regarding cruise room location. We have never been on a cruise! I've read here that some rooms are much better than others. I'd like to know if anyone can help me tell if the room I've been assigned is good.

It's on the Magic, room #8044 (for a Eastern caribbean cruise, spring '05). My agent told me it's close to the elevator, yet not too close, and there's no one across the hall from us.

Does anyone know if this is a good location? Or even better, has anyone ever been IN this room?

I have this room reserved. I have to give a desposit within the next two days. So, any fast help would be greatly appreciated!

8044 is a cat. 4 cabin on the port side pretty much midship. I don't think it would be my first choice as it appears to be right under the goofy pool. I would think when teh deck parties are going on the dancing would be annoying. BUT I am sure it is better than being below topsiders which is midship. IF I had my choice I would want deckl four forward where you are below the spa or adult pool. That said though I would be happy just to still be on the ship ..ANYWHERE

It looks like your room is under the Goofy pool. That would be my only concern with the location.

I'm sure someone has stayed in or near that room and can let you know whether you'll hear much noise from above.

My guess (it's JUST a guess) is that daytime noises from deck chairs and such would be heard. Do you have little ones who would nap mid-day, or would you be sleeping in much?

we were in room 8044 we heard nothing above us hallways were quiet as well and not that difficult to get around even when we used the elevators there was not that long of a wait enjoy your cruise also the bathroom layout was great that was 2 ofus could get ready at the same time

Wow! I can't believe I found someone who stayed in this room!! I was about to request a move, because of the overhead pool situation. But, wdw47, if you really remember it as quiet, then it should be OK.

This room is under the mickey pool, ( tons of activity). We heard nothing overhead, however we could hear the ocassional thud while sitting on the veranda. The best thing about 8000 rooms is you get a extra large overhang to shelter your veranda from wind and rain ( deck 9 has a cantalever over deck 8).

we dont remember hearing anything, slept great, enjoy yourselves, loved the veranda
