Magic pictures on board and shopping!

With all I have read on the board and in peoples trip reports, I haven't read anything regarding the pictures that they take on board or the shopping they have on board.

What kind of back drops do they have? How many shops do they have on board? What do they sell? Is it all Disney? Do they sell those neat looking beach towels? Is there things that you can only find on board and not at the Disney store?

This is our first cruise on Disney and don't know what to expect.

Welcome to the Dis board!!!!!

Yes there are many different backdrops to the pictures taken on board....some of our the ship, some have tropical background, some have nighttime sky, some are with the characters, some without...there are many different photo ops available.

There are two main merchandise shops on board...one is called Mickey Mates, which sells all kinds of DCL logo stuff (including many varieties of beach towels), toys, clothing, mugs, christmas ornaments, etc. If forgot to mention...PINS, PINS, AND MORE PINS!! They also have pin trading onboard.

The other store is called Treasure Ketch which sells more upscale clothing, luggage, jewelry, handbags, bathing suits, coverups, etc. Some of this stuff has the DCL logo on it, some not.

Both stores are very nice.

If you check out some of the DIS pictures from the trip report board, you will some of the different backgrounds used for formal nights, etc. Most everything they sell onboard is exclusive to the ships. You cannot buy DCL merchandise at WDW or in the Disney Stores.

Almost anything with the DCL logo is exclusive to the ships & not available elsewhere so if you see it on the ship, get it then, don't wait, thinking that you can pick it up later at the parks.
