Way back when, my high school's music department went down to Walt Disney World to participate in their Magic Music Days. It was awesome! My show choir performed at Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland and we got to enter on the rising stage and got to go through the utilidors! Now everytime I go back to Cosmic Ray's I always think of that experience. I am sorta writing an article about Disney's Magic Music Days and wanted to know if anyone else had the opportunity to participate in these and to share their experiences. Thanks. (I will not use any information posted on this thread for the article unless specifically stated other wise, or if I am interested in your particular story, I will private message you.)

Sometimes I wish I was a music teacher just so I could take my students to Disney for an awesome experience like this.

I actually just took a group of 17 to sing at the Downtown Disney stage at the end of President's week. We had a great time as part of Magic Music Days and also enjoyed one of the workshops offered. I would be happy to talk to you about it but I don't want to ramble on here unless you are interested. OH, we are not a school group but a pre-professional acapella singing group that is a branch of a professional theatre. It was a group of 17 ranging in age from 13-18.

I performed at Disney with my marching band in 1993 (?) as part of Magic Music Days. I think I still have my shirt and pin somewhere at my mom's house!

DD participated in Magic Music Days twice. She went with the marching band in 2007 and with her high school choir in 2008. Let me know if you are interested in asking her questions.

My high school choir went for Magic Music days in 1997 and 1999. It was wonderful! We had a competition in an Orlando high school the first day, went to Universal the second day for an awards ceremony with the other schools who participated.

Then the next 4 days we spent in Disney. We actually got to sing in Epcot at a very small stage in Future World. We got to go backstage, too, and I remember being thrilled about that! We were behind Italy and had room to dress in. I have pictures of what Italy looks like form backstage and there was a giant sign for Magic Music Days. (I'll have to scan them and then I'll post them.) I don't even remember where we entered to get from Italy to the stage in FW! It was really fun, though, and something I will remember forever! I still have my Disney' Magic Music Days t-shirt!

Thanks for the replies, I'll probably be sending some of you some personal messages if you don't mind once I get things a little organized. I love all the great message and I love hearing about everyones experiences. I know I no longer have the T-shirt (it was too big) but I do still have the pin!

My band went two years in a row, and we did both Universal's Parade AND Disney. We did Magic Music Days and played at Epcot (marching around World Showcase is no picnic) MK (Spectromagic, I think) and I THINK Hollywood Studios, I'm not sure.

I was a band director for 25 years. I took my high school band in '90 & '95. The first time, we played in a contest off-site. The second time, we played a concert in Fantasyland.

As a former band director, I have taken marching and concert groups to perform at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios many time throughout the years. Magic Music Days is an incredible program that lets the participants feel like they are "cast members" for the day. After 15 years, I still have former students that contact me about one of the "coolest things we ever did"! The program continues to evolve into more diverse performance opportunities that give young performers a great experience. Please let me know if you have any questions.

My 2 children went in 1995. I was a chaperone and we had about 300 or so kids. The orchestra played in Fantasyland, the concert band across from the American Adventure, the chior DTD and the Marching band performed around World Shocase on probably the hottest day! Any questions please ask! IT WAS GREAT!

I was able to be part of Disney Magic Music Days at Walt Disney World back in 1990-my senior year of high school. I was in my school's show choir, and we were able to perform twice-once in the Magic Kingdom, and again at Downtown Disney in the Marketplace. (Before it was Downtown Disney!) It was so much fun!!! I was also in our school's concert choir, and we ironically got to go to Disneyland also that year, where I also got to be part of Disney Magic Music Days there. Let me know if you'd like any more info!

In early May my middle school chorus preformed in the Mickey's Magical Music Days. We performed at Saratoga Springs. The judges were music professors. It was such a great experience. I had so much fun in the the four days. The day following our performance we went to an award ceremony at the Indiana Jones Stunt theater. Our school won Double Superior, Gold and Bronze, and Best in Class for our division. It was my school's first time performing. We did pretty well. (:
