Do you need to buy tickets online ahead of time to get Magic Morning if you're not staying at a Disney Resort hotel? Can't decide if I want 3 or 4 day passes, and may want to get tickets at the gate incase the kids are too tired from traveling to go into the park the first evening. But I want a magic morning for the Tuesday of our stay so I don't have to wait until 10am to get started.

No. Three day tickets get MM - as long as they are not special issue such as military.

You buy the Magic Morning Passes ahead of time. If it's 3 days or longer you get to go into one Magic Morning. Magic Mornings are held in Disneyland Park on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

If you aren't sure if you need 3 or 4 day before you get there, buy a 3 days online and then before the 3rd days of use is up you can go to a ticket booth and add a 4th day. The cost to do this will be $20 or $25 depending if it's a 1park per day or hopper. There is no saving buying ahead or at the gates.

I can add on a day without paying more than I would getting 4 days to start with?

I may want to buy ahead of time because I'm in Canada, so I'm watching the exchange rate to see if our dollar gets higher or to par with the US dollar.

That is right. The online price is now the same as the gate price. You pay the difference when you upgrade.

Previously there was a discount to buy ahead, and you could loose those savings when upgrading. When the prices went up a little over a month ago they removed that discount.

Haha, Rubygoose, I am no help with your actual question, but just wanted you to know that you aren't the only Canuck watching the exchange rate and trying to time certain DL trip purchases! :thumbsup2
