Magic Morning early entry & preferred seating..should it be??

I find it kind of annoying that AP and military staying in one of the three DLR hotels don't get preferred seating. :(
If they booked through WTDC they would.

Just to be clear, this is a perk of WDTC, not Disneyland or Disneyland Resort Hotels. WDTC does offer packages through Costco, AAA, and Getawaytoday.com. There are many ways to get the preferred seating, however, the seating to most of the shows really aren't that "valuable". (When was the last time you couldn't walk up at the last minute and see Muppets??)

I agree. I have never had preferred seating and can't see any value in it.

I've had it and see no value in it. Had to check in an hour before Aladdin, was in line far longer than standby, and got into the building AFTER standby got in. We were in the sun while standby line was in the shade of the building.

We were in the "orchestra" section, so all the BIG elements of the show were right in our face, which doesn't really work well when the elements are so big. Oh, and while I had to take DS to the bathroom during the flying carpet scene, hubby reports that he got to see the underside of flying carpet, while those who waited in standby and were up higher got to actually see Aladdin and Jasmine on the carpet.

that sucks for those with an annual pass and stay at a good neighbor hotel (or even on site) we get no preferred seating or magic mornings

Only been to DLR once, but I did not find the Magic Morning all that magical. The morning I had gone, the gates did not open until 7:10 (so we had a magical 50 minutes), and compared to other mornings I thought the lines filled up pretty quickly, and that by 9 the park was much more crowded than on other days.

I'm a big fan of the Unofficial Guides, and in the WDW issue they say never to go to early entry events because the parks fill up so much faster - after experiencing it at DLR, I'm surprised they don't suggest the same in their DL guide.

It may be worth it though if they offer it for DCA after Carsland opens...

Yes, but it wouldn't be very magical if all the locals could get on a MM. It would almost be like regular opening. They cater a lot to the locals and AP holders as it is. So I appreciate the MM bone being thrown to us who travel far to visit.

AP holders who stay "on site" are entitled to enjoy MM during their entire stay. Including both the arrival day & departure day.....(because they are staying on site).

:)

Nothing to be annoyed about. IMO, It has no value. You don't need it at Muppets & Bugs Life, & at Aladdin, it forces you to arrive earlier to sit in seats that aren't any better than you could get by arriving later & sitting front row center balcony (which you can arrive later for) assuming you can climb stairs.

Really? I figured all the hype about it that it was a must for a good view. Ok you make me feel better! :worship:

Hound may be saying this, but can't anyone staying on site just show their room key/proof of on-site and get into every MM during their stay?

I like the Aladdin Preferred seating. Its not a must have but it is a nice small perk. You dont have to get there very early to use it. When we went we saw people coming up right as they opened the doors to let the preferred seating people in so they never actually waited in line at all. We were there a little early ( I think we waited 30 minutes before show time) and where one of the first ones in the theater. And that was a Saturday of a 3 day holiday weekend in Jan 2011. It was I think the 2nd show of the day.

And someone said that they saw the preferred seating get in after the rest of the audience and I think that must be a mistake. Both times I have seen Aladdin (Once with preferred seating and once without) they allowed those waiting in the preferred line to go in and get settled before they allowed the rest in.

I didnt use any of the other preferred seating coupons we had but I might give them a try at the end of the month when we go.
