I am leaving Friday for DL :cool1::cool1: I'm sooooo excited. Anyway, while planning my daily schedule, I noticed Sunday May 1st does not have a MM, instead it is Monday the 2nd. No big deal, I was just curious if anyone knew why. I have seen magic mornings changed, but usually there is a reason with it and I don't know of anything weird this time. That next Saturday is the Pirates premier, but I can't see how that would have anything to do with it :confused3

I was on the DLR calendar yesterday and noticed the same thing. Highly unusual and possibly a mistake only because it is so unusual to not have the MM on Sunday. I have no idea why. Since they have already started the POTC movie premiere work (ROA closed down yesterday to many people's surprise) maybe they need to do something that night in advance?

In any case I have heard nothing about this.

We'll be there on that day too and I'm guessing that there's no MM because of the Orange County AIDS Walk (sorry I can't post a link) that's happening in the park that morning. I'm pretty sure I got that info from an article that HydroGuy posted a while ago. :)

Interesting.

I wonder what the cheapest (AP?) room at a DLR hotel is for Monday 5/2?

One could stay one night & enjoy two MM mornings. & it's off season....& many wouldn't be clued in to the Monday MM.

Could be a perfect storm two day DLR visit. pirate:

That could be it. They did the CHOC walk in the parks in October on a Sunday I was there. I remember that they changed the MM that day as well.

Yahoo News article about AIDS walk here.

I'm SO glad that I read through this tread!:goodvibes
We will be there in October and the CHOC walk will happen while we are there.
I might not even have looked for a Monday morning MM. I wonder which will have the most people on a weekend like this--Monday morning MM or Tuesday morning MM? Does anyone have prior experience as to which was busier on a previous week like this? :confused3

I'm also planning on going Monday and saw that. :confused3 It's not a big deal for me because I won't have MM. Plus, I assume that the day won't be very crowded in general. I think it's my first time going on a weekday during off season. It should be an interesting experience!

I know it's shocking, but sometimes Disney actually posts closures, schedule changes, etc... in advance

The MM switch has been on the calendar for at least 2 weeks.

On the other hand, I didn't see anything about the ROA closure before yesterday.

If there's a moral to the story, I would say it was ...
Check the calendar for the dates of your visit; as soon as they are up, you can start preliminary planning, but don't stop there! Go back every so often to see what new "goodies" Disney has just decided to let you know about.

yep, I saw the mm change when they first posted the calendar 4 - 6 weeks ago. I thought maybe it was a mistake the first couple weeks, then when it stayed, I thought I would figure out why by just reading the boards. But since I still didn't know, I thought I would ask. I knew someone would know. Thanks wadesmama!!

Since I have an AP, I do not have a mm, (would would ever thought I would say that !! :woohoo:) I am worried it will affect me negatively. On Sunday, when I would normally be there 30 to 45 mins early to line up to be the first in the park and rush to PP, everyone who DIDN'T read the calendar will be there super early for mm and probably just stay in line and wait for the park to open. We'll see.

I really wanted to ride PP first, cuz when I was there in November, at least 3 days (including one MM, my son and I were first in line just to get to PP first, and everytime it was closed)
