Just had to share a magical moment that happened after we returned home a few days ago from a lovely stay at BCV. Saturday there was a box on our porch. Nobody had ordered anything since before the trip, so we were mystified. Brought it inside and the return address said "Disney's Yacht & Beach Club". Guess what was inside? Our DD's pink scalloped blankie - you know, the ratty old lovie thing that each child carries around long past it's usefulness and said child panics whenever you wash it?

DD is 8, and hardly ever uses the pink scalloped blankie anymore, but she took it on the trip, and it was a good thing because she was sick two days during our stay and you know how comforting blankies are at a time like that, even for someone at the ripe old age of 8. She had mentioned to me during unpacking that she couldn't find her blankie, but I figured it was in the laundry somewhere, and didn't worry too much about it. We didn't even realize we had left it behind at BCV, but somebody there found it, guessed it's importance to an unknown child, and took the time and effort to mail it back to us! Tears of joy flowed from DD, and DH said again, "That is why I like to vacation at Disney".

I'm going to write a letter to BCV to thank them for going the extra mile to bring happiness, but I also wanted to pay tribute here to the extraordinary customer service that Disney excels at like no other place I know of.

NIce to hear there is a little "magic" left :)

Sweet story, thanks for sharing

as a mother of a 3 and 6 year old, each with their own ratty "night night" I can really appreciate this story!!! Way to go Beach Club!!!!! Please do write them a letter to let them know how amazing that little extra effort was!

That's a fantastic thing to do in return :goodvibes

Last trip in March, my ddd12 left her ipod behind at a show in hollywood studios. We thought it was gone forever. But we did check at lost and found the next morning. Someone turned it in.

I don't think this would happen anywhere else.

Good to know it seems to be a typical thing that's done.

Part of the reason why we choose to vacation there.

This is the sort of "go the extra mile" magic I love about Disney. Thank you for sharing this story.:lovestruc

This warms my heart. :goodvibes I'm glad you dd got her blankie back!

I agree - that's why I vacation there. 2 years ago my then 8 year old left his DS on a boat from SSR to DD. We called and yes they found it - we identified it via the game inside and the sticker on the outside and they mailed it no charge.

That's why I love Disney as well. My son won't forget that.:)

OK, that made me cry. I know how important those childhood "cozy" or "friends" are. What a wonderful magical moment.

How awesome is that? Your DD must be thrilled!

Our magic moment was about six years ago we left our camera at the Poly luau and a CM tracked us down to let us know they had it.:thumbsup2

That's awesome.

I would suggest that you also post your story here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2417929.

I have saved this link and return to it time after time for a 30 minute pick me up on rainy days.

Thanks for sharing the link to that thread - what a neat one! I'm going to have fun reading it. I went ahead and posted there. And your story is hilarious! I could see myself doing something like that!
