After going to Disney 12 times it finally dawned on me that we have never gone on the trolley and horse drawn carriage in Magic Kingdom. Can anyone tell me what the story is? Can you ride them, does it cost anything and where do you get on. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

there are several forms of main street vehicles. they all run from the town square area to the hub and back. there are signs posted around the hub that point out where they load. and it doesn't cost anything extra.

On our 13th trip to WDW, we made a list of things we had never done. Both the double decker bus and the horse drawn trolley were on this list. We did both, it was fun going up Main St. thru the crowds being pulled by a giant horse. No charge. My autistic son also got his hair cut at the MK Barber shop for the first time, that was fun, too.

Thank you very much everyone for all your help. Do you just stand where the sign is until it comes or is there certain times of the day it runs? If so is it posted on the time board at the end of Main Street?

They stop for you to load in front of the Main Street Railroad Station near the flagpole green (Town Square.)

On the opposite end of the run, they stop for you to load in front of the Castle near the Walt and Mickey Statue (Hub.)

They run in the mornings.

there are different defined stops for each, in both the town square area and the hub area in front of the castle, on both sides of the street. i believe the signs have a yellow background. you just need to find the sign for the one you want to ride and wait.. or hop on the first one that comes by.

but the stops are spread out, they're not all together even though they all pretty much travel the same route

not really. first, most people don't even know about it until they see it right in front of them, so that cuts out the vast majority. second, many of those that do see them don't realize they're an attraction for guests to use free of charge.

i once had the horse drawn trolley to myself save for the dapper dans serenading me all the way up main street.

Is there usually a long line of people waiting to do this?

Impossible to say for sure on any individual day, but generally not too busy.

(And the ride is so SHORT, that it is not considered a major attraction.)

Most guests are in a hurry to get past Main Street and on to the "real" rides,
and the Main Street vehicles are generally slower than walking,
especially considering the time they just sit there and wait to load.

Is there room on these to fold up my stroller? It sounds like so much fun & I had no idea we could do this.
I tell you, I learn something new about WDW on here every week, adding so much magic to our upcoming trip.

I think you can fold the stroller and carry it with you, but the time it will take
to remove the child, fold the stroller and reverse that action at the other end
MIGHT take longer than the ride itself. ;)

It can be easy to "over anticipate" these little rides if you're not careful.
The trip is very short.

I don't want you to be expecting a lot of fun when its just a cute diversion for a couple of minutes.
