It's good to be back on the disboards. I lived here before our first family trip in '04 and the resulting trip was absolutely perfect thanks to everyone's expertise.

My two sisters and I are meeting in February for a one day adventure with Mickey. I am a big planner but don't want to overplan since I really want to enjoy the experience.

We'll probably splurge on one meal, skip the parades but can't miss Wishes...

Read great reviews on Jellyrolls - good place for the three of us for a night out before we hit the park the next day? I would be the youngest in my "early" 40's

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am way out of practice, wrong place, sorry - reposting under adult trips!

hope you all have a great trip and lots of fun - not to mention sister time!!!

Thanks, Pat. I'm really looking forward to it. I even wore my Mickey sweatshirt today since I was so excited after reading all these posts last night. I'm feeling slightly guilty for going without the kids but they know how crazy I am about Disney so they've been ok with the news.

I hope my sisters can keep up with my enthusiasm. I'll be the one who wants to be at the gate at 8:30 am!

Look - it's me and my sisters! (I'm the cute one!)
:dance3:

If you are the planner, I would ask each of your sisters to name the one thing that they really want to do at MK. Then I would put the attraction that each of you picked the first three things on your agenda. Then wonder your way around to whatever else you all fell like doing. This way everyone sees their top choice so everyone has a great day!

My sister and I did a quick trip like this in May. In February we were going again to celebrate her 40th but we've had two tagalongs added - my brother and mother. It will be good family time.

Anyhow, I did what the previous poster said...I sent out a list of all the attractions and asked everyone to rank them with either a "Yes, I have to do this", "I'd like to do it if there is time", and "Don't want to do this". Then I tallied the results...for example Mom doesn't want to do Tot or RnRC. The 3 kids do. So mom will get fastpasses for the LMAStunt Show while we ride. Mom and brother want to see Indiana Jones show, sister and I don't care to see it again right now (we saw it already this year), so we will do something else instead. This way we know what everyone wants to do so they feel like they had the best trip and we're not wasting time asking, do you want to go on such and such ride and not knowing how they really feel about it. I am hoping it will save a lot of time...I'll let you know!

The music at Jellyrolls is great. The drawbacks of Jellyrolls are the cigarette smoke, and also that the music is too loud. If very loud music may bother you, I recommend bringing earplugs.

It's a fun place in spite of the drawbacks, so go and have a nice evening.

Daisy,
Thanks for the tips. It won't be the loud music but the smoke that gets me...might have to rethink that...

donald (nice combo reply!)
Great minds think alike. I went to the Disney store in the mall today and picked up two maps to mail to them! My thought was exactly what you suggested since that's what I did with the kids before we left. Everyone made a top 3 list and we made those our priorities!

Thanks to all for your kind words.

OK, looks like Jellyrolls will be too smokey...

any other ideas on where three sisters can go out the night before the Magic begins?

3 sisters feeling the LOVE!

well wed - sun(might be thurs) - you might try POR or POFQ - both have entertainment. the one at POR is pretty nice and get great reviews. not sure about POFQ.

Thanks Pat -
most abbreviations I can pick up but those are over my head???

Is there a post somewhere on here that lists all the abbrev that the veterans use?

It will be a Weds.

POR? POFQ??

Thanks!!!

How long do you think it will take to do MGM without ToT or RnRC (we're big chickens). I'm thinking we start with Star Tours or the Backlot tour?

I'm thinking we'll do lunch around 2. Think we can get it all in before then? We'll be heading to MK for the afternoon/evening.

Which way do we go?

Two of my sisters and I did a sisters only trip in January of 1999. It was one of the most fun trips we've had. We did Pleasure Island one night. I would recommend this for a fun activity. We did the Adventurer's Club and the Comedy Club. We were lucky enough to be called on the phone at the Comedy Club. After talking to all three of us, the cast performed a song about "Sisters" which had us laughing so hard. They kept bringing us into the other skits they performed as well.

We're planning another sisters only trip in August of this year. Have a wonderful time. I hope you have as much fun as we did. We're also in our 40s, and now one of us is in her 50s!

I think you can do most things at MGM if you aren't going to ride the big rides by 2:00. But then again, it depends on show times and how you plan the day around them. You can check a website that gives the show times for each of the parks. Some shows change week by week and some are pretty consistent. I would check for a couple different weeks and you can see which ones change times. It's Walt Disney World Live Entertainment. The actual web page (I hope this is okay to post!) is ...

If you plan to see EVERY show, you probably won't have enough time. When we go this weekend, we plan on doing RnR and Tot. But we will skip Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and probably Indiana Jones (unless my brother gets his way!). We are leaving the park by 2:45! I'll let you know how we do!

Yipee! It's very reassuring to have someone think my plans will work! The only show we'll do is Indiana (I was chosen to be in the "cast" last time so I'd love to see what it looks like from the audience)

Please come back and let me know how you did - this weekend, ahhhhhh, how I wish!
