We are going to the "Greatest Place on Earth" in November and i have a Baby girl just under 2 years old. i have been several times but not with a child, and i am trying to get advice on special things to do at Magic Kingdom that would make her eyes light up.

We took our dd last year right before she turned 2 and just about everything made her eyes light up. She loved Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, The Country Bears, Turtle Talk (at Epcot), It's a Small World, etc etc. She loved meeting the characters, esp. the princesses, which was funny because she didn't know much about the princesses. Except she specifically requested to see Cinderella because we were, after all, visiting her castle. The princesses are back in Toon Town. She liked the train and the parades! Really, it'll be hard not to make your child's eyes light up.

Just go and have fun and take lots of pictures!:goodvibes

Storytime with Belle at the Magic Kingdom! It's behind the Pooh ride. DD2 loved it and you get to meet Belle afterwards. I think there's something like 5 shows a day - check the times guide. Be sure to get there early though because there are only about 3 rows of seats and they close it off once it's full.

We took DD (now 6 1/2) for the first time at 1 1/2 years old. Really, at that age, everything made her eyes light up. It was great.

Her favorites were: the furry characters, the birds, Dumbo and the Carrousel.

Oddly enough she wasn't crazy over any of the face characters. I don't think she liked 'strangers' talking to her. Other than that she enjoyed whatever we enjoyed.

Pooh's Playground in Fantasyland wasn't open back then, but if it had been I know she would have LOVED that, especially the pop jet fountains.

We took her again at just over 2 years old, and by then she was more familiar with the princesses and liked them better. She was awestruck by Cinderella at CRT breakfast. She still loved Dumbo and the Carrousel, and of course the furry characters, but thankfully by then she was outgrowing her fascination with the birds, lol.

We bought her a Minnie Mouse dress that trip and she wouldn't take it off. Really, she wore that dress almost every day from the time we bought it until we came home. I think I only got her to take it off one day, so I could wash it. It's funny to look back at the photos from that trip... there's a Cinderella dress, one shorts outift, and all the other photos are in the Minnie dress. It looks like we were only there for three days, lol.

I love taking my kids around this age. Everything is fascinating to them! We went last October and DD#2 was 19 months old. She didn't care about the princesses or anyone that wasn't "all dressed up" with their face covered and everything. She loved the Fab 5, of course.

The best rides for her were: Dumbo, Pooh, It's A Small World, TTA, Buzz Lightyear, Carousel, the railroad, and the Jungle Cruise. Make sure you catch the parade. And stop by Toon Town and let her play in the water area....plus Pooh's Playground in Fantasy Land.
