Magic Kingdom visit question

Hey guys,

We plan on a late September / early October visit.

Due to other planning there are three options
1. Visit on Oct 4th - a MNSSHP night, park closes at 6:00 PM for us
2. Visit on Sep 29th - Park is open till 8:00 PM but it is a Saturday
3. Visit on Oct 3rd - Park is open till 9:00 PM but has Extra Magic Hours 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM

We always did MK in 2 days (Last time was 5 years ago), Now the kids are older (12,10,7), I'm afraid we won't manage to finish everything we have.

What are your insights?

It would be less crowded during the day on a party nite. Most non-party days will be crowded. A lot of locals do to Food & Wine on weekends so Saturday probably wont be any worse than the EMH nite. If you are planning a party, then you will be able to ride a lot during that time

I would be very surprised if the hours for Saturday, the 29th were not extended.

That said, my choice would normally be the party day unless that is your only day at MK. From the sounds of your post, that might be the case. So, if you are staying onsite, I would go on the 3rd and take advantage of the EMH. If you are offsite, then you might as well go Saturday, because I would expect the time to be extended past 8 o'clock.

Yes, but then you would miss HEA, which I personally wouldn't do if that was my only MK day.

Tell me, usually how long before to they announce on adding more hours? And how do I know about it for the FP+ options.

Park hours for MK in September will probably be updated around the 15th-17th or so of August. Staying offsite, you can make FP+ at 30 days out.
