How often do they run and is there a line or wait time to get on?
I was thinking we could take the train over to the Mine coaster and then take the train from there over to Barnstormer and Space Mountain to save some walking, but if we can get there a lot faster by walking, we'd do that. Thanks

The trains run on a continuous loop and usually isn't more than 10 minutes or so between them. There is rarely a long line.

Depends where you are getting on. From the entrance you would have to ride all the way around the park so walking is faster. From Frontierland the train is faster. Barnstormer and Space are close to the station by Fanastyland so the train won't work.

Unless they decide to add a stop somewhere with the Fantasyland Expansion, there are only three stops - Main Street at the front of the park, Frontierland near Splash Mountain and the old ToonTown area (near the Circus renovation).

It will be faster to walk. As PP mentioned, the stops are near Splash, Storybook Circus, and Main St. There is a walkway from the Fantasyland station to Tomorrowland that should be a pleasant walk to Space, if you'd like to take the train just for fun. But it's unlikely to be a faster mode of transportation than walking.

When you say "Mine' coaster do you mean Big Thunder Mountan Railroad (in Frontierland) or the under construction Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster in Fantasyland?

It it's the former then the train is a nice way to get from Frontierland to the new Fantasylnd station which is right next to the Barnstormer.

Yes, I meant the Big Thunder. I was thinking get on the train at park entrance, ride the coaster, get back on the train to get to Barnstormer and Space Mountain. Thanks for the replies

You know, I didn't even think you might have meant BTMRR instead of the new seven dwarfs mine coaster! Should have figured that out. It would still be faster to walk, but probably more fun to ride the train :goodvibes

Riding the train is pretty fun. It would be faster to walk back to Big Thunder Mountain but if you aren't in a big hurry then the train is a good option. We like taking the train for a loop or two while we are at the MK. Usually it's when we want to just sit and relax for a bit.

Walking is most probably faster than the train, when you take into account waiting for the train, and for everyone to get off, and for everyone to fold up strollers and get on, etc. If you timed it perfectly, then the train might end up being a little faster, but it's doubtful.

If it's RD and you're trying to get to the ride ASAP, definitely walk. But if you can afford to be more leisurely, you can take the train.

The train is a very good ride for relaxing in the middle of the day, when queues at many attractions are long (but almost never at the train).

Thanks for the replies, I guess I forgot about those strollers. hahaha. If it's not a time saver we will skip it.

Nothing beats hopping to the other side of the park when it's hot, you need some shade (and a breeze) and your legs/feet are screaming for a break. :thumbsup2

When returing to MK at night, we hop the train and take it over to ride BTMRR and avoid all the guests crowding Main Street.
