For our first day in October, we are planning to spend a few hours in MK in early afternoon and then head to epcot for a 7:20 dinner at Coral Reef.

We will have our car and are staying at AS Sports. Should we
1) drive to Mk and then drive to EP?
2) drive to MK and then take the monorail to TTC and then epcot?
3) take the bus to MK then monorail to EP then bus back to the hotel ?

Which is going to be quickest? Our DS will be just about 4 at the time

In the order of my preference and suggestion:
3)
1)
2)

BTW, 3) would actually entail:
take the bus to MK, then take the monorail to TTC and then epcot, then bus back to the hotel.

I would do 1 of 2 options....

Option 1
take car to TCC center then take monorail or ferry to MK, when ready take monorail back to TCC center and transfer to monorail to Epcot. At the end of your evening take monorail back to TCC center where you are parked.

Option 2
Drive to epcot, take monorail to TCC then to MK. Return same way mid-day, at end of day you will be at the park your vehicle is parked at so you can leave when you want.

I know many people only use WDW transportation once they have checked in but I do like having my vehicle accessible so when we are ready to leave we don't have to wait for a bus and less noise at the end of the night means the kids have that 10-15 minutes of a car ride to chill out and they are ready for bed once you get back to the hotel

i would vote for option 2. The waits for buses at the end of the day at Epcot are insane, especially since it is such a long walk to the bus platform.

a more complex plan.

Someone Drives to EPCOT Center and takes the m-rail to MK.
Everyone else takes the Bus right to MK.

whcih is what I'd likely do. Since I can move pretty fast solo.

I say bus then take the monorail over. It's not that much of a hassle to ride to the TTC and transfer. Part of what makes Disney so great for me is not having to use the car.

If you are looking for the quickest of the three I would think that driving to both is going to be your best bet. You won't have to worry about a "schedule" for either a bus or monorail.

I would choose option 3. I don't think you'll have any trouble getting a bus leaving Epcot. We were just at WDW and ended several evenings there. We always used WDW bus transportation from there to our resort. We always had a very short wait time.

I don't think busses will be a problem, especially in October.

What you do not want to do is be at Epcot, then have to monorail back to TTC to get to your car. Eitehr park at EPcot and go to MK and back again via Monorail, or just drive from one to the other. I'd still vote for the bus.

The answer for each guest depends which resort, and how much they like/dislike driving.

You list ASSp. I'm not intimately familiar with busing to ASSp, but it should not be bad waits, esp in October. The bigger the resort, the bigger the bus stop crowd. Pop =longer waits at peak times, whereas WL =minimal bus loads.

Some downsides of driving: need designated driver, need to navigate (not always easy). You can almost sleep on the bus/monorail. It also depends slightly where you park in the lot/how quickly you an get to your car, but October should be okay.

The upside of driving, in my experience is that it is almost always the quickest option, unless you make a wrong turn. (GPS! :) )I've gone to WDW many times with extended family, and one car for ten people- so not enough room for everyone. The car group almost always beats the bus/monorail group.

The only option I would not pick is leaving the car at MK.
