I finally managed to score a Beaches & Cream ADR but not on an ideal day park-wise. We will be at the Magic Kingdom that day. The ADR is for 1:30 pm. Would it be best to just Uber or is there another way? This is for the 2nd of December.

I would start exiting MK about 45-60 minutes before your reservation - you never know how long you will have to wait for a bus. And if you get there early you can walk around the Yacht/Beach club resorts resort, the pool is really fun to see. If you are really early, the Boardwalk resort is a short walk away, too.

Note that the bus stops are just outside the MK itself - you don't need to go around Seven Seas Lagoon to get back to the Ticketing & Transportation Center. Even still, mid-day, I'd want to be at the bus stop a good hour before my ADR.

Also, you can take Beach Club bus...OR...Boardwalk bus (and walk around to Beach Club). Whichever pulls up first (usually the bus stops are near each other so you can watch both).

Take either a Beach or Yacht club bus. Another option that may be faster is to walk to the contemporary and take a taxi from there. Really depends on the buses. If you get one right when you arrive it is best to do the bus but sometimes wait for buses can be 20+ minutes. I'd be at bus stop at minimum 60 mins before you need to be there.

Given that this is your first visit, I'll give you my opinion.

B&C is absolutely NOT worth losing 3-4 hours out of a day at MK. It's a hard to get reservation because the place is tiny, not because the food is great.
I have been wondering about this. I've seen people rave about but I'm questioning is it's worth the trouble.

Beaches and Cream has some unique sundaes, but as PP said, really nothing worth leaving MK for. It's Edy's ice cream with toppings. My advice, if you are looking for burgers, sandwiches, salads, plus ice cream is to simply eat at the Plaza at MK. There food is actually better IMHO and they have sundaes (made with Edy's ice cream). There are also really good sundaes at the Plaza ice cream shop if you just want some sundaes and aren't looking for a full lunch.

We love Beaches and Cream, but we always stay at the Beach Club, so it's extremely convenient to eat there. I really don't know if I would go out of my way from MK to eat there, if I wasn't staying there. But, if you do keep the reservation, I would be aiming to get on the bus one hour before you need to check-in, NOT one hour before your ADR time. I don't remember what the official Disney guideline is anymore (maybe 20 minutes?) but we always try to check-in 20 or 30 minutes before our reservation.

I agree with much of what has been suggested. When I first started planning trips to Disney, I had my family running literally all over the World from parks to dining. We wasted a lot of time on transportation because I didn't really understand how big WDW really is. After a dozen visits, we only eat where it is convenient to where we are staying or where we are playing. There are so many great options around WDW, you can always find something close that will be great. That means that there are still some places on my bucket list: Jiko, Boma, Sanaa, to mention a few. I'm sure we will get to them eventually when we stay at the AKL some day.

Beaches and Cream is a great option *if* you are already visiting the Boardwalk area. If your day is centered around MK, I'd look to The Plaza as an alternative. Figaro Fries!! Yes!!

This! There are nice places for lunch in any of the monorail resorts! Counter service at a resort would be better than taking that trip.

The Plaza even has the Mickey Pants, right?
It sure does! We had one in August; just the right size for our party of five (three adults, two kids) to share after dinner there. And you get to keep the bowl! Er, pants!
I totally agree. Just stay in the MK. I actually had an ADR for Beaches and Cream that I had to cancel for our last trip because it just didn't make sense with our plans. I look forward to trying it sometime, but I don't regret canceling.

What time do you think we should leave the park to make the reservation. Apologies, because this is my first visit. :-)

Disney states to allow 90 minutes to make it to an ADR using their transportation. But I agree with others--it is not worth losing so much time at the Magic Kingdom, especially on your first trip.

Thank you, everyone, for all your good advice. I am going to cancel the Beaches & Cream and stay in the park. Off to the December ADR cancellation thread... :D
