My wife and I are going to WDW in Jan and need advice as to where to eat in MK, as we have never been to WDW before.

No kids, just us, and we have the DDP (but don't have to eat at a DDP restaurant).

so far we plan on eating at, Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre, Tony's Town Square and LeCellier Steakhouse Canada world showcase.

Any more advice on MK would be great

Are you looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner? If you're looking for a breakfast meal I suggest Crystal Palace, yummy breakfast food plus Pooh and friends. For dinner Liberty Tree Tavern is a good bet, their turkey dinner is pretty darn good.

I like Crystal Palace. I think it's a pretty restaurant with alot of offerings...the salmon is very good.

We didn't really eat much INSIDE the MK, but if you're interested, Wilderness Lodge isn't too far away. When my husband & I were at WDW last month, we took the ferry over to the WL and ate at Whispering Canyon Cafe. The food there was pretty good.

Or take the monorail to the Grand Floridian Resort and eat at the Grand Floridian Cafe. It was really yummy too.

I suggest taking a look at some of the monorail resorts restaurants. They are very easy to get to from MK, a nice break from the parks and it's a great way to check out other resorts.

Read menus here or at the allears site.

Make your advance dining reservations asap.

I second GFC and Kona. I'd also add 'Ohana - grilled meats and shrimp on skewers, salad, noodles and veggies. Oh, and Bananas Foster bread pudding ala mode. :thumbsup2 There is entertainment geared towards kids but it's very cute. Try and sit at or near the windows. We haven't done it, but you can see the Wishes fireworks from the windows complete with the music piped in.

GFC, Kona and 'Ohana are just a monorail ride from MK (or a nice boat ride).

In MK we like Crystal Palace (good food, great desserts) and have heard nice things about LTT.

Good luck and have a nice trip :)

MK is not known for great table service dining, especially if you want a glass or beer or wine with dinner. MK is a "dry" park. I would head to one of the monorail resorts for a change of scenery and a better dining experience.

1900 Park Faire at the Grand FLoridian is a delicious buffet dinner. Characters from Cinderella make an appearance. Someone mentioned Liberty Tree Tavern... that is scheduled to close. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/dining/diningDetail?id=LibertyTreeCharacterDinnerDiningPage There is also the option of eatting at the Castle ( that takes 2 TS from the DDP) but it is a delightful experience. I would definitely check out the MK resort restaurants. There are more then those that have been mentioned. ( MK resorts are the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, the Polynesian, and Grand Floridian. The Hoop de du Revue is at Ft. Wilderness [ 2ts])

My opinion...skip Tony's Town Square. It was probably the worst meal I have ever had at MK. I'm sure some may have better things to say. I would agree with trying out the monorail resort restaurants. If it is just the two of you, try California Grill at the Contemporary. Great food, fantastic service, and a fabulous view!!!

I'm not sure if you mean Liberty Tree is closing but it's not. It is remaining open but as of January will no longer have characters present.

:thumbsup2 Suggestion hope you don't mind. I would get rid of the SI-FI and go with Prime Time. Si-fi has went down with there dinners in the past few years. That was our all time must do resturant but not anymore. Just my opinion.
Have a magical trip

If it is just you and the wife, you could walk over to The Wave at Contemporary resort. Good food.

Another vote for Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge also...you can take the boat from MK to WL, and then back again after dinner. (Just make sure the MK is open late enough and the boat is still running).

Where did you grow up...I went to elementary/junior high with a Brian S.

We love Crystal Palace and The Plaza Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom. Personally, we won't ever go to Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wildnerness Lodge again--overrated and DH got sick on the food.

I would highly recommend the California Grill at the Contemporary and time it to where you could view Wishes. A very romantic and different thing to do, plus the food has been excellent every time we have gone.

It's just DH and I when we go and we always use the DDP. If we have to eat at MK we eat at Crystal Palace. If you just want to be nearby, go for Kona..always a good meal to be had.

I would try the Plaza because I have heard good things about it, but I would pay out of pocket if you do ...it would be a waste of a dining credit in my opinion.

Good luck deciding! :)
