We have always loved the rose garden at the MK. It is a place of calm in the midst of chaos. We were sorry to learn it was to be demolished. I spoke to a gardener right at opening this morning. The roses are scheduled for the mulcher in the near future. They gave no date. Even though the roses have looked pretty rough the past couple of years I was sad to hear this. Those bushes are old and very unique. Just sharing the info. :sad2:

Yup.

There have recently been a couple of threads discussing the demise of the Rose Garden.

I wish they'd keep it. Hubby proposed there in 2011.
Although, after looking at the picture look how pathetic those rose bushes in the background looked!

Oh I wish I could get and transplant some of those roses into my garden.

How fun it would be to be able to say I had some rose bushes from the Magic Kingdom. I could get them to look beautiful again.

Think I'd be caught if I dug up a few? :rotfl:

I think they could auction off the rose Bushes...
I'm sure there's plenty of rose garden fans that would love to have a magic kingdom rose bush in their backyard. I would.. but I'd kill it. I kill every plant I touch.
Imagine how much money they would make! (like they need it...)

AFAIK, they are already gone.

Recent photo (looking south) of the east side of the hub from THIS link.

Note that the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station is to the left, and we are looking back toward Main Street and the Plaza restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor.

The Rose Garden (or what's left of it) appears to be to the right edge of this image.

That's a sad site in that picture. That was one of "my spots" to watch Wishes from.

The bushes were still there yesterday morning.

I just went out there for the first time last year and glad I snagged a buncha photos of the castle from the rose garden.

How's the view from the Tomorrowland Dessert Party these days?

The rose bushes are still there. Robo, your picture does not include the rose garden. It's much further right across the Tomorrowland spoke. Notice the dragon tail at the lower right of your picture at the lower right for reference. The picture is actually showing WSW from the walkway to Tomorrowland Terrace not south.

But yes, the rose garden will be removed according to the plans.
