Magic Kingdom Reservations during Very Merry Christmas

Hello!

We have tickets to the party on 12/18, and this is our first time attending. We made our plans very late (actually we made them early and changed our travel week about a month ago, so the net effect is the same...)

I've been able to re-make a few dining reservations :), but I haven't been able to make any dining reservaAtions at the Magic Kingdom during the party at all. Is getting a reservation that night realistic? I've been rechecking several times daily since we made the change, and the only openings I've seen are for the fireworks dessert cruise. I'm wondering if this checking is really a good use of my time or if I should just move on to my next question:

We normally like table service meals for dinner, but with no luck there...can anyone tell me what restaurants will be open and where we might want to eat that would be a little less chaotic and would not take a great deal of time in line? I think we would really like to remain in the park for our meal -- seems like a waste of the party ticket costs to take a chunk of time elsewhere that night. :scared:

Thank you so much!

PS: If you have any faves among the newer Downtown Disney (what was wrong with that name?) restaurants, I'd love to hear. We thought we might take one evening off and run to Disney Springs (ugh...) so I made a res for Morimoto. But there seems to be less to choose from there right now than I was hoping.

Considering how expensive party tickets are, we would not spend party time at a table service restaurant. If you want a TS meal, your party tickets will allow you to enter the MK starting at 4:00 so I would look for a reservation around 4:30 or 5:00 instead. Or you could have a late TS lunch at one of the nearby resorts (e.g. Kona, Grand Floridian Cafe, Whispering Canyon Cafe) and head to the MK around 4:00 and either have a quick service dinner before the party or just snack during the party itself.

Thanks so much for the idea of doing a late lunch, we're staying at Polynesian, so I'll see what I can reserve there. :)

There are very limited meal options during the parties so you're best best is to do late lunch/early dinner.

I have a BOG for the night we are attending the party and we are dropping it. As a previous poster stated, I feel like it will take up too much valuable party time and those party tickets were not cheap!! If you really want to have a TS dinner, keep watching as I bet more people will drop, the closer we get to the dates.

We are eating a very early dinner at Trails End on party night. We aren't crazy about the quick serve places that are open during the party besides like others said it's a shame to spend party time in a restaurant.

Tonys, The Wave, GF Cafe, CP are all great locations, it just depends on what you're looking for. Thanks! GO DISNEY!
