I never paid much attention before but on our last trip I noticed a mailbox in the Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know what the postmark would be if you mailed a letter there? My daughter's fiance proposed to her during the fireworks in front of the Castle, How neat would it be to mail their wedding invitations from there if there is a special mark!

Thanks,

Penny

Don't know if they still do this (this is something I saved in a file dated 2012....but it could actually be older. I know it worked during "that" trip, but no clue if they still do it. )

You will need to take your mail to City Hall in the Magic Kingdom. Tell a Cast Member you would like the Main Street Post Mark. They will stamp it for you with a cute Main Street USA - Magic Kingdom post mark. When the mail gets to the actual post office, it will also get the basic Orlando post mark. There will be no doubt where your magical mail is being sent from!

Might be worth taking the invites with you on your trip, asking them when you get to MK and if they say yes, then hauling the invites to the park. Lugging invites around because this is no longer done would be a pain.

It will not be a "Disney" postmark.

I am pretty sure it is the Lake Buena Vista post mark. :thumbsup2

Ha! I could send mail to myself!

We actually do this! At the end of every day we write a synopsis of the day's events on a WDW postcard, date it and mail it home. After the trip, the cards go in our photo album, helping us remember the trip for years to come.

I think that it is "Kissimmee, FL" (or "Orlando.")

But, as was mentioned above...
in order to get a "Main Street, U.S.A." postmark on your mail, you need to take it to a cast member at City Hall on Main Street in MK (seen near the top of the map below.)

Tell them that you would like the Main Street postmark on your mail. The cast member will stamp your mail item with a "Main Street, U.S.A. – Magic Kingdom" postmark featuring Mickey Mouse.

We mailed postcards from the lobby of all star music last year. There is a mail slot by the lobby bathrooms there. They had an Orlando postmark.

1. Thought it was one of those it depends on where on property you mail it from. But I thought if it was sent from the MK it got Lake Buena Vista.

2. But as you posted above its not a real postmark just a rubber stamp right. The post office then actually officially puts its own postmark on it.

As a side note are there any Disney themed stamps out now. I may just check.

As a second side note. People still mail stuff. :)

Could be.

Main point: not a "Disney World" postmark.

FYI not that it really matters to the thread but a few years ago Lake Buena Vista was one of the post offices that got hit with closure Mine was on the potential closure list but they decided there weren't enough horses in our one horse town to restart the Pony Express ;)

I guess no longer true. Its been awhile since I have seen this question.

Wow a buck a stamp. Quite a bit of markup. I'll check with the post office.

They have Pixar stamps, that might be as close as you get! There are actually 2 separate sets. I have used both of them and they are great. They are bigger than normal stamps so you really see the characters!

The United States Post Office has a series of Disney stamps....they're extra large and very cute:

https://store.usps.com/store/browse...d=S_470004&categoryId=subcatS_S_45cFirstClass

A Bug's Life (1998)
- Toy Story 2 (1999)
- Monsters, Inc. (2001)
- Finding Nemo (2003)
- The Incredibles (2004).

They are forever stamps. I think if you buy them online there is a delivery charge, so go to your local post office and ask them for them....if they don't have them in stock, they should be able to order more (though my post office won't "hold" them for me, they will order them for their facility and I can come back and check if they've arrived....I've done this several times and it always works well if you have the time to wait).

Anyone with a quick pic or scan of the Main St. stamp / postmark?
