I have a few questions for all the DIS Brides that have done a MK Photo shoot...
Is there any photographer I should request, or ask not to have? We really want some great photos
Sunrise is set for 6:48 on April 26, we want some dark and some photos with light...Is 6 am a good time or should we do the 5 am?
Thanks again for your answers!

We had Ty and I think his photos were great. Amy also, assisted him that morning, and she is very sweet. I have seen the photos from one couple that she took, and I think they're great, too.

But, decide for yourself.

For the ones I know Amy took, it's

Username: Leisher / Reese BP
Password: 1971

or here's Lisa's link to her pics.

Also, we had our photos taken on Jan 21st, and SR was 7:18 am that day. We took the pics in front of the castle first, and then went inside, then to the carousel, so the rest of our castle pics were as the sun was rising. Personally, I think light turns out better...so I think you should stick with the 6:00am time.

One more tip, Lisa (of the Leisher / Reese BP) gave her photographer a list of pics she wanted during her bridal shoot. I thought that was a great idea!

WOW - your photos are stunning tiggerrifficheidi .... Ty did an amazing job that day

your pics are awesome! And I thought it was so cool that you had pictures in so many different countries in Epcot!

I had Amy and I am dying to see the pics. How long does it take for them to be posted?

Toni-they told me 10 working days...and then it had been 13 and I hadn't heard anything, so I emailed my WP...and they got me the info pronto. If you're curious, you could always go to the link, put in either "Last name / last name BP" or "Last name / Last Name Bridal Portrait" and then the password of 1971 and see if they're up! Then tell the rest of us :)

hmm..it has been 10 working days. I am assuming it should be up shortly. I checked our name but its not up yet. Grr..:lmao: If they are not up this week then I will email the wedding planner. Amy did show us some of the pics on her camera and they looked great but I am still dying to see them!! :yay:

It doesn't hurt to bug your planner...or Disney Photographic Services, if you have their contact info. I would expect them tomorrow, since today is a federal holiday. And who knows...they could change up the login. Mine was Ridenhour / Jones Bridal Portrait, but Lisa's was Leisher / Reese BP. Who knows :confused3

Oh yeah I totally forgot it was a holiday today since I am at work. :rotfl:

Yeah I am sure they will be up soon. I saw Lisa's pictures and they are gorgeous!! I just looked at yours and my mouth dropped! OMG they did a beautiful job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ty was great! Amy was a sweetheart too. I can't wait to see what she did. I forgot my bouquet so she is supposed to photoshop one in for me..lol. I can't wait to see how that turns out!

LOVE YOUR PICS- Your dress is STUNNING

Thank you! Amy was a great Photographer...I enjoyed working with her so much and I think she did an awsome job!

Ty did a great job on your pictures Heidi....WOW!

Both of your pics are stunning...I am going to request either Ty or Amy...They did a great job. Thanks for all of your input!

I know this is a weird question. If dd does the MK shoot, will disney let me tag along? I know I may be a overbearing mom, but photography is a big hobby for me and I would love to watch the photographers in action and possibly take my own pics.

Sorry, only the bride and groom get to go.

all I would say is be careful with TY, we had him and we are now having a reshoot this year as our photos are so bad! Some of them are so dark you cat tell my husband is in them, I have a toilet and sink in one of them etc.

We have requested Vicki arndt and also amy as a back up as they do some great shots.

I saw great pics of tys work on here before our wedding but as soon as he picked us up he was very off and as soon as he found out we didnt have disney shoot our wedding that was it!

Just my opinion

Good Point. I have heard from more then one "Ty Bride" that was unhappy. That is why I went with Amy. Her work seemed consistant. It seems like if Ty likes you and you have "the look he works extra hard and you not only get beautiful shots, but awesome photoshop work like Heidi's, but if you do not fall into his "Worthy" catagory you get crappy pictures, and a re-shoot. The other bride I talked to got a reshoot the week before my wedding because her pictures were so dreadful!

That is why I didn't request Ty. I actually did have him requested and then told my planner that I wanted either Amy or Mike since I liked their work the best. Amy was a sweetheart. She was fun to be around, looked like she enjoyed her work and we had a great time. She also occassionally showed us the pictures she was taking on her camera which I really liked.

I think everyone is right to be cautious, but I have to at least give MY perspective (because that's the only one I have that isn't second hand).

Even though I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pictures Ty did for us, I don't think he liked us particularly. I don't think he DISLIKED us, but I didn't get the "ooh! I LOVE this couple" vibe. This could be the fact that we were late and he had to call up to the room for us, it could be that we, too, did not use Disney Photography for our wedding or that it was 30 degrees out! :lmao: Or it could be that I was being over-sensitive.

I did think Amy was more "personable," but come on ladies...she IS a girl!

That being said, Ty did talk to us about our impression of Disney photography and of some of the negative press received recently. I really think he was doing this as a "polling" mechanism, because as many have said, it seems DPS is "stepping up." I think when he questioned us it did come across more like the Spanish Inquisition, but I really got the feeling he was trying to help the image of his organization. He told us he'd worked for DPS for 11 years, so even though he has his own business...he has a lot vested in Disney!

There are some shots that I wish he had been more creative on, but then again, as Lisa pointed out, overall my shots were great...and I agree that his photoshop work has beaten anything I've seen.

I think whether you pick Ty, Amy or Mike (is that Strickland? He did our Escape wedding in June!), it's best to be up-front about your expectations. I know the Roots are adored on this site (and should be), but after our E-pics, I had to tell them I didn't like all the crooked shots! I felt like a JERK critiquing them, but then again, I was paying for the pics. And so far, our wedding pics are all great! I think Lisa did an excellent job being up front at her MK Shoot (from what she wrote). And her pictures bear witness!!

I'm really sorry that some people have had bad experiences! I was nervous for that reason, but here's to hoping they've fixed some of their issues (and that Sarah's re-shoot is GORGEOUS!)

i hope so too!! its a long way to come from the uk for a reshoot!!
