Magic Kingdom Phase Closures Christmas/NYE week

Will be having a family reunion in Orlando from 12/23-1/1 and are planning on hitting up the WDW theme parks. I was just curious as to what phase closure the Magic Kingdom has reached in recent years during this peak time so as to decrease our chances of being turned away at the gate.

As far as I know the MK is the only park that tends to hit capacity, but I may very well be wrong with that.

Nonetheless we are a group of 10, 5 of us with platinum AP and the other 5 with 5-day MYW tickets. We also have a dining reservation scheduled at the Crystal Palace at 2:15 for lunch on 12/24 so that may help us guarantee entry on that day.

Based off of trends in recent years, what is the highest phase you have seen the MK hit during this week?

You are going to be fine. In the past years the only phase MK has hit was for those buying 1 day tickets at the gate. All others have been allowed in.

I'm not the OP but I appreciate your answer.
My family will be at RD at MK on December 30, leave about noon and show up about 9:30 pm that evening for a 3 am closure.
I just want to make sure we are able to get back in about 9:00 pm since my family of four, with kids 18 and 23 want to stay there until 3 am, YIKES LOL
I have FPs for December 30 that begin at 9:30 pm that evening.

We are staying onsite and I haven't been too worried about the closures. Hope this year is the same!

I'm not sure anyone knows or has said publicly but the thought is MK will never reach full closure to all guests ever again.
The last time was in 2009. Well before the added space of NFL opened. With that added acreage it's possible it holds so many guests now it just can't get "full"
Guests buying day tickets do have things to worry about but that's it for now
