Magic Kingdom or Disneyland

Can anyone give a bit more detail on the window the Wicked Queen peaks out of on the castle? I read about that once before and I'd love to see it when I'm there in June. I know this is a bit of hijack, but it was mentioned in this thread somewhere...

Actually, she peeks out from the window above the entrance to the Snow White ride.

Thanks!! That will be easier to find given all the windows in that castle! I'll be sure to be on the look out for it!

Squee! I can't wait! :teeth:

To me, it's like apples and oranges. And I love them both!

I completely agree! I have been going to WDW since I was 5 years old (in 1986), and have been there over 20 times.

I first went to DL in 2002, and have been back twice, most recently this past New Year's Eve *although I'm going back on Thursday!!!!*

People ask me all the time which is "better." I say that they are both great. They're unique parks, completely different in my view. I love DCA, and I love the closeness of DL. I also love the difference in attractions that everyone has mentioned, and the "Walt" factor is very huge for me. The first time I walked down Main Street towards the castle I thought of that b&w picture of Walt walking through the castle entrance and I got very misty.

However, I never thought that I truly had a preference between DL and WDW until now. Reading the posts, I found myself kind of defensive about MK. I realized that it is, in effect, my "home" park, and always will be, as much as I love DL.

Wow, should I pay for some kind of therapy fee? What a Disney revelation I just had :cheer2:

I prefer Disneyland to MK but if you compare the resorts I prefer the whole package in Florida so much better. I love epcot, MGM, Animal Kingdom and all that is so much better than the two parks in California.
I agree with this whole-heartedly. What WDW offers that DLR simply can't is a wonderful overload of Disney experiences...more of a buffet. It is hard to beat the overall vaction at WDW, with all there is to do and see.

Even so, if the comparison is just between the two, DL will always outshine MK, imo, simply because of the personal "Walt" touches and the feeling that those bring to the experience. If you are looking for the purest form of Disney magic, DL has it all over MK.

POC and Small World are both way better at DL.
We are visiting DL for the first time this August.
While I'm very excited to see the DL POC, I'm sure my wife will drag me on Small World.

How could it possibly be better (worse in my case)? I mean, WDW already has 8 trillion dolls... room after room after room of dolls. Does DL have more dolls and rooms?
God I hope not. :smokin:

The only big difference I've noticed in IASW at DL is that you queue up outside the big building that houses the ride. The exterior is amazing (if you've been to MK since they did the rehab, they patterned the new "clock facade" after DL). The exterior really is nice, with the huge white building, the clock and the nice topiaries cut out of the shrubbery, but fear not Maistre Gracey . . . it's not anymore painful than the one at MK! :teeth:
