Arrived at ASMo very early. Went in, got the park passes, were told the room would be ready after 3. Cool. We headed for the bus stop for MK. Excited? You bet! Just like it was my first time again (going to MK that is, get your minds out of the gutter kids).
Being that this is the only day Spectromagic is running during our trip, and that Big Thunder is closing the next day, we know we HAVE to be in MK that day, no matter what the weather or the crowds. Well, the weather pretty much hung in there, but the crowds were heavy. No problem for me, as I enjoy the crowds (yes, demented perhaps, but nothing is more depressing than an empty theme park in my book).
One second into the park and I'm seeing characters, lots of 'em. Of course I NEED to get pictures of my DD and her friend with Dopey, so they begrugingly get in line to pose with my favorite dwarf. We tried for a pic with Timon, but his line closed just as they were about to get up there. Forget the rest of the characters, these girls want to get on Space Mountain.
On the way to Space, we meet Buzz Lightyear, short line, got to get a picture. Did that. Grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz, then hightailed it to Space. DD's friend (I'll call her DK, as her name begins with a K) is a newbie, so she's not sure what to expect. The look on that girl's face just walking through the mountain was priceless. She loved the ride, and of course, we immediately had to do it again.
We then gave the girls their big chance to split up with us. Of course they were waiting for this moment ever since we first got into the truck to make the journey - they were golden right about now.
They had a cell phone, we had a cell phone. That was going to be our lifeline to each other. Aah, but modern technology is not always so cooperative...
