I've never done a trip report before, and this one will be brief (I think) but we had such a great day yesterday at MK that I want to share with those who can appreciate it! My family are the only Disney die hards in our clan. A little back story....

My family is myself, age 32, DH 32 and DD 11. We also brought along our nephew who is also 11 (he and DD were born 2 weeks apart and could be twins) they get along really well usually and he's been with us before. Also joining this time is my MIL age 54 (?). It was a big decision to invite her to come. We had a very rocky relationship in the beginning, and although we are in a great place now and have been for the last 5 years or so (DH and I have been married 12) she and I both have to keep ourselves in check for lack of a better way to put it lol. So I was really worried that her coming would undo all the progress made if things didn't go as planned. My Mom went with us on our 2013 trip, and I knew it would mean a lot to DH so we decided to go ahead and invite her. We live in a town almost exactly half way between Oklahoma City and Dallas, and we drove straight through and made it to Orlando in about 20 hrs. We did Universal for the first time Friday (DD 11th b-day) and Saturday. Very fun, but no trip report on that one. So we only have 1 MK day (usually at least 2) and 1 AK day which is coming up tomorrow. I'll post about our MK day a little later.

So I was pretty nervous about our MK day yesterday for a few reasons. First being that we have always had at least 2 full days to tour MK. Second, I had really tried to slow things down a bit for the sake of MIL. She is not in bad health per say, but gets hot really easily and she can't power walk like we can. She had also already developed a blister on her foot so we had to slow things down even more. In the end, with a lot of help from FP+ and being flexible, we had a great day. Here's a rundown:

RD - Pulled into TTC a little after 8:00 and had to take the Ferry over. They weren't letting anyone on the monorail. Not sure if it hadn't opened yet, or if it was having issues. It was open later in the day. We were through the turnstiles by 8:30, bag check was a breeze. We basically stepped through the turnstiles and had to stop because it was already packed with people. Opening show started at 8:40 and then we were off. DH and the kids power walked to BTMRR while MIL and I took our time, took a couple pics of the castle and stopped at a bathroom. We had back to back rides on BTMRR planned, but I didn't mind missing the first ride and MIL was happy not to rush. We got there just as the others were coming off the first ride. Couldn't have timed it better. This was the rest of the morning:

BTMRR X2 - done by 9:15
Splash - done by 9:35
POTC - done by 10:05
JC W/FP+ - done by 10:30 (standby was at 25 min, I think we waited maybe 10)
Snack/bathroom/Tom Sawyer done by noon. I had added Tom Sawyer in at the last minute so MIL could have a nice break and the kids like that area a lot.

At this point we were going to do Hall of Pres, but instead, I called a huge audible and decided that instead of us all going back to the condo after Hall of Pres for a break, DD and I would stay in the park while the others went for break. I wanted some she and I time, and we anticipate this being our last vacation for a couple of years at least, so I know that the chance to do something like that with her again is slim. The others decided to go ahead and skip Hall of Pres and leave for break. MIL blister was really bothering her at this point.

I'll post later about how our Mother/Daughter time went, and how great our evening was.
