Magic Kingdom - Halloween Party. Worth the money?

My kids are 8 and 12 and will be going to Disney for the first time this October. I'm wondering if some experienced mousers can tell me if this age group would enjoy the Halloween party? Also...what percent of kids that do go dress up? (worried about packing space).

DD12 loved it as well as us (DW & I) it was great .

I would say about 60% dressed up from t-shirts to full blown outfits.And thats Adults ,kids and entire families.

My family (me, DH, DD 8 then and my sister, her DH, and DD then 6) went to Disney for the very 1st time for the halloween party in MK. We loved it!! The kids were dressed up and my sister and myself were in halloween tee shirts. (OldNavy and Target have really cute cheap shirts). Also, you will not beleave all the candy you and the kids will get. As we got off the tram, Disney staffers were giving out bags to go trick-or-treating with. We had a great time.

Costumes did mot take up alot of space

Someone else asked this not long ago if not on this page on the next.
But in answer to your question..YES it is worth it.We had a ball when we went, Myself DH and DD (9),DD(7).They let you in at 4pm with the MNSSHP ticket,so you can do most of the main attractions that you want to do before the party starts.The fireworks on party nights are Fantastic,they go on for ages.
My DD's both dressed up,but DH and I didnt.Most of the children were dressed up.

I LOVE the Halloween party- but to get the most out of it, ARRIVE by 4 and stay til midnight. Most families with small kids poop out by 9pm. You can pretty much go on every ride in the park line free (but save fantasyland till after 9). The atmosphere is REALLY fun. Watch the late parade for the ride of the headless horseman.
