We've decided we want to get a haircut for my son (age 2 1/2) & my husband at the MK on the day we arrive... in 10 days!!! :)

We've never done this before, but I've read that it's a great experience. But how long is the wait usually? We'd like to do it late afternoon on a Sunday. Will we have to wait forever? Or should it be quick? I want to do it the first day, because they're both already shaggy!! ;)

It can really be quite a wait. We usually hit it first thing when MK opens and even then there can be a wait. There are only 2 people there who cut hair (usually) so as you can imagine if 2 people get their haircut and then there are 3 ahead of you it will be awhile.

Last time I waited and DH took the kids to wait in line to see Mickey and Minne in the area right outside the barbershop. When they finished they came in to check how close I was and once there was only a person in front of me they waited with me.

It is pretty close quarters in there, but so worth it!

My DD still talks about it. Both my kids had their first haircuts there, and I hope to have mine trimmed there next trip as well.

Definilty a must do!!!!

The pic in my signature is of DS getting his haircut.

Last March we did that on our arrival day at MK - I think it was around 2-3pm. We had no wait at all - there was one customer and 2 stylists when we went in. My husband got his hair cut and my daughter got the big princess sparkly 'do. A few people came in while we were there, but the lines didn't ever get big.

I'm sure at different times of the day it can get really full. Have fun!

We were told that the Harmony Barber Shop empties out about an hour before the Parade starts, so you can plan your visit at that time. DH and I just walked in on Halloween.

We went on the way out of the park for naptime for DS's first haircut...I think there was one person in front of us.

I've done this EVERY time I've been to WDW since 2003. It's such a great experience and VERY affordable!

There CAN be quite a wait! We have waited a half hour before! In December, we went as soon as we walked into the park at about 9:15. There were already 2 people in front of us. It didn't take that long, though. They cut my DDs bangs for $2!!!!! AND gave her Mickey Ears that say FIRST HAIRCUT with tons of stickers, confetti aka Pixie Dust and a Certificate. WE got this for our son in 2003, too. GREAT souvenier!!!!!!

DS had his first haircut there. It was really special, and our wait time was about 20 min. The haircut itself didn't take long, the girls hairdo's take a lot longer. DD saw some girls with their hair done with confetti and updo and wanted it done next time when we go to WDW. I would say their off times would be the parade times as most people are watching the parade. It's a cute place and a special memory of WDW. You can always have one person of your party wait inside since it's a small shop and then call the others when it's your turn.
