hello all!

So we decided to go to Disney in september this year and was hoping to get some feedback.

We decided (for now) that we were not attending the Halloween party and so that limits when we can see fireworks in MK. In October I avoided those days because how crowded they were and was wondering if they were just as bad in September. I’m going the week after Labor Day.

Also I was thinking of taking advantage of EMH because we are staying onsite. Am I crazy?! It’s just the two of us so we don’t have to plan or adjust for children.

I’m going the week after Labor Day.

Do you mean the week that includes Labor Day (3-8) or do you mean the week after (9-15)? The week of Labor Day, there are only two parties, one on the 3rd and not again until the 7th. That means there are more days for everyone to spread out and see HEA. But the week of the 9th, there is one on the 9th, 11th, and 14th, so there are fewer days for people to see HEA.

As for EMH, we always use early EMH and sometimes use late EMH, but we also always have hoppers so we can avoid the most crowded part of the day at an EMH park.

Sorry I should have been more clear. We are going from September 9th through September 18th. There are many days listed mk closing at 9pm, but during that time I think only one late EMH day on Wednesday staying open from 9 - 11. We enjoy MK more at night to avoid too much sun and heat.

From the 9th to the 14th we will be at AKL and for the remaining time be offsite at a villa. So I usually plan to avoid EMH because we always stay offsite. This will be a first trip where we can actually take advantage of it.

Since we aren’t doing a Halloween party, and because I love HEA I was thinking of trying to see it on a normal day leaning toward that EMH day but I don’t know if this would be chaos

The late EMH day will be more crowded than all the others for the same reasons you're thinking of doing it. If they don't change the closing time until past 9:00, it's not likely the park will empty out all that much. 11:00 just isn't that late. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, just be ready for higher crowds for those two hours than you might be thinking AND that HEA will likely be the most crowded of the week as well.

Personally, I'd be tempted to catch HEA on another night, and then you can ride rides during HEA on the EMH night and still take advantage of those few later hours. But if you don't have hoppers, that means two crowded days in MK.

Thanks for the advice, usually id go in the morning on a party day and then go to the Halloween party. I plan on getting a 6 day park hopper so I could hop to magic kingdom another night as well. I was trying to condense MK to one day vs 2. But I will be flexible and take your advice! Thank you so much!
