Has anyone been to the Magic Kingdom when it closes at 1:00 or 3:00am? What kind of crowds are at 9:00, 11:00. 1:00. etc. And for what rides?

i havent been but i would imagine that even though its long after midnight, it would still be crouded. but by 3 it would probably be somewhat close to empty

When is it open till 3? I have never seen the parks open this late.

I've never heard of it being open past midnight--I learn new things on this board everyday.

I think when it gets that late (or early) there will be a lot of families with little kids leave, but the night owls may come take their place.

Midnight + 3 hours EMH for resort guests.

December 25 - midnight + 3

December 30 - 1:00am + 3

We were there over Easter when MK was open til 3 for resort guests - it was VERY busy until about 1:30 --- I mean VERY BUSY. At 2 the line time for Space said a long time (I am thinking it said something like 40 minutes but the kids were in, on and out in less than a half hour. Character lines especially for Mickey and Minnie (posing together) were still very busy but we stayed anyway. I don't know that I would do it again...although I probably will!

December 30 - 1:00am + 3 extra magic hours = open til 4 am

I been told that this night Disney Transportation will be running 24 hours because of the very late close.

We were there Thanksgiving weekend and went to EM hours, the park closed at 2am, at 1:40am there was still a 40 minute wait for Space Mountain.

There are a couple post midnight EMH nights during my trip in March. As much as I love the MK, I cannot fathom staying there until 3:00 AM! Unless I am suffering from insomnia, as I am right now.

:guilty:

In February when I was there, this was at the beginning of the EMH ... there were a few nights where the MK was open until 2 am.. and like a previous poster said.. it was crowded until about 1am or so.. and then it ws like someone shooed everyone out of the parks and we rode everything over and over again.. I have pics of myself ALL ALONE on Splash.. with Nobody in the logs in front of me or behind me as far as the eye could see.. it was great .. I could take as many photos of the inside of Splash as I wanted without bothering anyone!! I plan on being there for January 1.. that will be a 3am day.. It will be interesting to see what kind of crowds there are.. and how long they last since the night before will ahve been NYE... Soooo watch for my Live trip report.. I will update!

The MK was open until 3 am at a point we were there this summer. The family crowd is gone around midnight. After that, the lines were reasonable (although we were surprised how long they were at 2:30 am!) and very managable.

We did find that the crowd took a nose dive though! For the most part, it was peachy. But there were a lot more rowdies... and a number of them looked like they'd come over from Pleasure Island as they were all dressed up and had obviously had something (usually more than they should have) to drink. We just stayed away from them in line, etc.

What about other parks evening EMH? (obviously not till so late), but are they as crowded?
princess:.

Last March, there was an EMH until 3am. We were there until about 1am, and the rides still had 60 minute waits.

IMO, the EARLY magic hours are much more worth it. A lot less people are willing to wake up at 5-6am than there are people willing to stay up until 3am.

We went last summer and stayed till about 230 am. We had a blast!!! My DH and DSS had an incredible time. The park was dark and we walked on Space Mt. 8 times in a row. This was at the end of July. It was definatly worth it. We plan our park trips around EMH now.

Where your ski clothes if you plan to go! We were at MVMCP this December and even though we were plenty bundled up (hats, gloves, etc) we could not make it to midnight since it was so darned cold! But then again we're from California!

Stayed until 3am one night two Junes ago (wow, I can't believe it's been that long!). Anyway, it was pretty empty and we walked on to everything. It had been raining pretty hard that day though, so that may have had something to do with the light crowds.

We did the EMH when we were there in July and stayed in MK until 3... It was awesome. We rode all of my favorites (Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mt. Railroad, Pirates and Haunted Mansion) multiple times and there weren't any HUGE lines...

We loved it, and can't wait to do it again when we go in October.

in April we had an EMH that was open till 1am, after 11pm it died down quicky, from 10-11 it was still very busy(mostly non-emh stragglers just hanging around(GET OUT!) :earseek: but from 11pm-1am, it was nice, walk on to everything.
:cloud9:

We plan on going to New Years Day EMH at MK.

I am putting the kids down for bed at 4pm or so, waking them up at 9:30 or 10 pm and us staying till 3am!!!!
I hope it is a magical first night for us and a memory for my kids to remember!!!!!!!
