Magic Kindom in October--which day of the week is best?

I was going to go on a Wednesday, but I want to get a FP to meet A&E, and it seems easier if you select a day later in your vacation. If I did that, I'd have to go to MK on a Friday. Would the crowd levels be noticeably higher on a Friday vs. a Wednesday? How much more difficult would everything be?

easywdw rates the friday as a 7 and the Wednesday as a 5. So I know there will be a difference, I'm just looking for anecdotal evidence as to how miserable that difference will make us.

Check the calendar to see if the day you want to go is a MNSSHP day. It would make a difference in how long the park is open, and probably affect crowds.

Crowds are generally lower on a MNSSHP as the park is only open for non party guests until 7pm. The crowds will start building once 4pm rolls around and the party people start to arrive. Of course the downside of going these days is that the park closes early and you don't get to see the night time parade or the fireworks. We found Oct to be tough for MK as there were so many MNSSHP nights.

Most MNSSHP days are less crowded, but the trade off is that you have to leave the park before the party starts therefore missing Wishes. Easywdw crowd calendars have always been a lot of use to me. Enjoy!

Well on easywdw when Josh puts a number of 5 or 7, he means all the parks as a whole, not just MK. So even if the parks as a whole have a rating of 7, that doesn't necessarily mean that the MK wouldn't be a great park to visit that day.

It all depends on if the MK is hosting the Halloween party or not. Which it probably will be on a Friday so I say go on a Friday.

FWIW, we went in Oct of 2012 and followed Josh's recommended parks every day. Yes, that mean we went to the MK on days it closed early for the party. However, we had very good luck with lines. I would say our average wait was 10 minutes and the longest we waited was 35 minutes for Dumbo.

Now things will probably be different due to FP+, but I would still go to the MK on a friday. Get there at Rope drop and follow Josh's cheat sheets if they work for you.

If you have another day or hoppers to allow you to see the MK nighttime entertainment, then I'd do the Friday as it WILL have a party that night and crowds WILL be lower during the day, so getting that A&E FP should be a little easier.
