Magic Keys (all 4) going back on sale tomorrow, April 11.

Yayyyyy

It shouldn’t be this hard. It’s like the PTSD I had trying to buy my son a PS5 ;)
Haha, right? You'd think they'd make it easier for us to throw thousands of dollars at them... :P (I bought my pass earlier this year, but now my husband has one, too. We were going to be spending $800 on tickets for him anyway later this year, so... We won't activate them until September.)

so you actually got it to go through on Firefox? Trying to plan a strategy for WDW AP's. :cool1:

I was on Chrome the whole time. Same strategy, keep refreshing, make sure I was signed in, and opening new tabs.

Yes, at first it was doing the same thing, but then when I did that different process, and tried hitting Continue again, it went through. I even put in a different credit card than the one on file. (Because we wanted Southwest points)

On FB it looks like only Inspire and Imagine are left.

Random fun fact for laughs:

Early this afternoon, I logged in to grab an Enchant Key and had it in my cart, but got pulled away before finishing the transaction. When I got back, it put me in the queue again. I didn't have time to deal with it, so I closed it out.

By the time I got back into the queue late in the afternoon, Believe was already sold out. And then Enchant sold out while I was in the queue. (Honestly, I was more gently-bummed than disappointed.) So I closed it out.

Just out of curiosity, I went back into the site about an hour ago to see what things looked like.

After going through the queue and logging in, I was shocked to see that the Enchant Key was still in my cart. The site was misbehaving at that point (in Firefox), and it wasn't letting me go to Checkout (just looped me back to the Cart), so I assumed it wasn't going to happen.

On a lark, I switched to Chrome. When I logged in, it was still in my cart. And, insanely, it let me check out.

So, at risk of stating something either useless or obvious: it turns out you can actually buy a sold-out Key if it's already in your cart. :D

Honestly, a nice surprise at the end of a weird day.

@brightlined - I just checked and mine are still in the cart. Now I have some decisions to make. Half the price of WDW Incredi pass but the plane ride is 6 hours instead of 3 and two less parks. Still so tempting

@emmabelle - I'd wager our travel habits are a lot different, but I did that a few years ago with no regrets.

I'm a WDW lifer - I had an AP for most of the 2010s. When they did the big price increase in 2019, I bought an AP voucher at the old price (to bank it for the 50th), and decided to make more visits to DLR. And it's been amazing for me - no regrets at all, especially when I really had the chance to immerse myself in the differences. (Previously, for me, DLR was more of a day-here, day-there kind of thing - just whenever I was in LA.)

At the end of the day, so many of my favorite rides are better at DLR than WDW - and I love not having the long journey between parks and/or dealing with buses. I wouldn't mind getting more rides on my WDW faves (FOP, Everest, Guardians), but the balance of what I'm getting feels about right.

Last year, I did multiple trips to DLR on an Enchant Key, plus one December trip to WDW on a hopper ticket. It was cheaper than an Incredi-pass, and I loved everything about it. If the blockout dates make sense, it's hard to beat the Enchant Key. Essentially the cost of two 2-day PHs - so even one trip at the beginning of the pass and one at the end of the pass would cover it - anything beyond that is a bonus.

@brightlined I know right? I've been pricing out everything and accept for the longer plane ride it's pretty much a wash for what we would spend on hotel and points on Jetblue. I had an AP for WDW for years but let it expire in March of 2022. It would be nice to do something different.

oh well just tried to purchase the Enchant key. It lets me put in all my payment info and then doesn't go through. I'm assuming that's because even though it's in my cart the ticket is sold out? idk, I guess it wasn't meant to be. :rotfl:

These are the times where we can appreciate how bad Disney's IT systems can be... :D

Disney's IT is known to be so glitchy, especially with payments - I wouldn't necessarily give up as long as it's still in your cart.

If it's worth it - maybe try logging into the website on another browser and see if keeps it in your cart - that's what worked for me. Maybe try another credit card, too, if you have one. Honestly, maybe even try again in a few days.

One thought - if you go with the Incredi-pass instead, I might suggest holding it for a few months and going out to DLR on a park-hopper before activating it. That way, you can get a taste of the DLR life before you start the year of WDW.

It did that to me yesterday. It was my bank putting a fraud alert on the transaction. Once I fixed that, I was able to process the transaction.

I basically tried everything. Desktop computer, iphone, Chrome, Safari, two different credit cards, cleared my history on the computer and I kept getting an error message. I have to believe that because the magic key is sold out is why it won't go through. They are still in my cart. :rotfl:

We’re unable to complete your purchase online at this time. Please try again later or call (714) 520-5060 for assistance if purchasing a vacation package, or (714) 781-7277 if purchasing an annual passport.

thanks Disney!

I had issues buying as well and then they sold out. Disney sent me a reminder email today to checkout because it was still in my cart. When I clicked the link in the email my cart was empty.

Disney! (shakes fist in the air)

I just looked and I have an email that they sent me an hour and a half ago. Let's me go all the way until purchase button and then womp womp womp

so I tried to buy them again separating them between a CC and my Disney rewards card. Just thought I'd try something different. I'm in a virtual circle of death with the Woody character. I wonder if it will spin all night? :rotfl: :rotfl:
