Magic Key sales are back, 3/5/2024!

Well, that lasted for 3 months. I wonder when they will open it back up for sale.
Not at all surprising. Tomorrow is the last day that Enchant can enter until August 5. Disney would much rather those that find themselves blocked out for the summer purchase tickets than run the numbers and figure out that upgrading to the next magic key tier would make more financial sense. I'm sure they want people in general to buy tickets for the summer season rather than magic keys judging by the summer ticket offer. Add to that, magic keys are the most likely to complain about the lackluster Pixar Fest and the cost-saving entertainment cuts.

I know this is a question nobody can truly answer but I'd still love to get your opinion. I am thinking about getting MK passes for my daughter and I when they go on sale again. We have a trip planned for next Memorial Day and would just plan to have a year of Disney, I normally don't do combined birthday/Christmas gifts but this would be a huge gift so she'll have to deal with it. She's turning 12 around Christmas and I just feel like with her being preteen it's probably the time to do it.

Any opinions on when they'll open back up? I'd need to get the highest level based on blocked days so we would need to go a lot to make it worth it.

MK are blocked the last couple of weeks of the year. This year all MK are blocked Dec 21 - Jan 3.

Last year they opened up MK sales on Wednesday, January 10. It lasted less than one day, but I think it was more because of logistics than it was the number of keys sold.

There really is no way to know when or for how long MK's will be available. Some seem to think they will not have MK available until well after Tiana's & Haunted Mansion reopen.

The Disneyland vs WDW AP thing is crazy. I've canceled most of my trips to Disneyland through spring of 2025 and we will spend another two weeks in Florida for Spring Break in 2025. Feels crazy for us to have a WDW AP and not one at Disneyland but here we are.... As DVC members the deal for the 2nd tier one at WDW is great as long as the flights don't kill you. I'd love to make a 3rd trip to WDW in this cycle but we aren't quite there yet....

Disneyland, please give me a great deal on a low-black out date AP. How about you can go to the parks if you have an on-site hotel/villa stay booked DVC pass for 999 bucks???? Or even better, 1899 for both coasts.....

We’re from Hawaii and we have APs for WDW, and not for Disneyland. And most of our points are at Grand Cal. Go figure.

$999 for DVC-Y with limited blackout dates and no parking would be the sweet spot, IMO….

If they wanted to jazz up the VDH Interest for families of 4+…. that would definitely be one way to do it….

No way would one for both coasts ever be that low. I believe my last year with the premier pass it was about $2200 and that was renewed in March 2019 (was due to renew when Covid hit). But I would so love to have that pass back!

Iger shot it down during the Q&A on an earnings call.

before the current closure, I was thinking of getting a pass the end of summer or early fall.

I am hoping that Disney will reopen new passes soon after the end of the summer 3-day ticket program.

I have a feeling they are reworking the passes again. Most people renew in August. I think they’ll come out with changes then start reselling the passes after the current summer discount ends at the end of September. They’ll shut it down again for December.

Have they historically not sold MK during December? I only wonder 'cause it seems they still have Block Out dates in place and seems people might want to buy them for family gifts. Even if the lower MKs were blocked, some people might upgrade to the higher ones in December just for access.

The only history you can go off is the last 2 years. They stopped selling the keys in October/November both times. So since the Magic Key program they have not been on sale in December.

Even the Inspire, the most expensive MK, is blocked out several weeks in December for the holidays. Some are blocked more than that, so maybe they upgrade to get a few more unblocked days in December. If anyone still has an unused Dream Key, it is not blocked out in December.

Inspire is only blocked for two weeks: Dec 21 - Jan 3
Agreed and I wish that they still had a MK without a block out during that time!!

I was responding to this part of the OPs post: "Even if the lower MKs were blocked, some people might upgrade to the higher ones in December just for access." I just wanted to point out that ALL MKs have some block outs during the December, so upgrading to a "higher one in December" will not give someone access to all of December.

Not during holiday season. They will reopen Jan

that is a possibility. hard to say since there is not much history to go by. there is more "history" of sales open year round.

one reason to look for a reopening of pass sales early fall would be to generate cash flows. stock prices are down.

there is also the possibility of a cast member strike. that may be a reason for Disney delaying reopening sales.

Do California residents have the ability to do the monthly payments for their Magic Keys like Florida residents do for WDW annul passes?
