Magic Key Program

If a Nov date is blocked you can use your hopper then upgrade.

thanks! This would be our first time upgrading so just to clarify, do you mean if this was the case I would want to upgrade on my last day so I can use my existing reservations and still apply the cost of my tickets towards a pass?

I just saw the announcement! I was hoping one of the passes would work for us, but I don't think it will. We would need to get the $1399 pass because we need weekends, especially in the holiday months. Oh well. I'm glad they brought it back for those who it will work for, though!

Ok, so, question.

I have one-day parkhoppers that we’d bought for July 11, but then the CA resident deal came out and we bought those and used day 1 on July 11 instead. So, I have the unused hoppers on my account.

I could book those for August 25, use them to enter the park after my daughter’s half day of school, and then go to the ticket booth later and upgrade them all into passes, right?

Regarding 90 days. I wonder if the rumors are coming from the sentence about 3 no shows in 90 days.
Maybe but even the LA Times is reporting it:
“Pass holders can make reservations to visit the parks up to 90 days in advance and can cancel a reservation as late as the night before a visit. If a pass holder fails to show up at the park after making reservations three times, Disney will not allow the pass holder to make new reservations for the following 30 days.”

other news sites are too. Either they are working off blog Mickey rumor from earlier today or have more detail from a press release.

I wonder if they will let us look at park availability before buying?

I'm sure they will, just like with the 'regular' ticket reservation calendar. You can look at it before you buy your tix.

Problem is that availability may change down the road if you're a frequent visitor. I'm sure you'd be fine for an 'immediate booking' but if one booked all their allowed reservations but knew when they wanted to go later in the the year, by the time one used their first set of reservations, the dates they wanted later that year may no longer be available.

In the past I upgraded on my 2nd day. The first day was the only one blocked out. Then I was able to make use of food discounts.
I don’t know how it will work with the reservation system.

No. You cannot upgrade the CA resident 3 day pass. They are non upgradeable. It says so on the tickets and in the terms and conditions.

From what I’ve seen, it looks like your 1 day park hoppers could be upgraded!😅

No, I know that. I’m talking about upgrading full-price one-day parkhoppers.

ETA: I do appreciate the response! 😊 I think that with the timing of the 3-day resident deal and the APs dropping, there are going to be a lot of people confused and trying to upgrade those.

I am really excited, I will be going for the Dream Key! To me it just makes sense to get the top tier. I'm happy AP passes are essentially back and it's nice to know that even though they are trying to weed out some AP passholders that they do want them to return.

From what I can gather, you wouldn't need to book the 25th and use the one day hoppers. Just visit the booth and upgrade those hoppers anytime after the 25th. You don't have to actually use the one day hopper to apply the cost towards the new pass.
