Magic Key but no DVC AP

I know you can upgrade tickets to AP at the ticket booths. Can you upgrade to DVC Gold (if it is available again) at the ticket booths?

Assuming they continue “business as usual” after resuming active AP sales, you should be able to… I did for both my husband and I in the past.

Right now, however, they won’t even upgrade an AP to a different type of AP! I had a Gold AP that I renewed online, but foolishly chose to renew as a weekday AP… I tried calling the AP help desk multiple times to get it back to gold, but the waits were obscene (& the one time I got through, I was accidentally disconnected before we finished!!). By the time I got to MK GS in person, I was one day outside of my 30-day renewal window. I explained my situation, was told upgrades are not allowed (which I knew- but I kindly pleaded my case- that I had accidentally downgraded & just wanted my renewal to be what it used to be- so, technically not an upgrade!)… anyway, the sweet GS CM had compassion on me, but still had to get special permission from management to fix my error (they could see notes on my file corroborating my story). It was an ordeal. I apologized & thanked her profusely!!!

Sorry for eavesdropping...I have a DVC Gold Pass that I am using (heavily LOL) that expires in March. Will I be able to simply renew it or some other form of AP come March?

They’re letting people renew now, so I’m sure you’ll be able to renew in March. The questions will be, what passes will be offered and at what price!

Sure I can. I threw WDW renewals in there too.

they have several options. have not yet picked one for FL. as I said, they are trying this out in DL first. ALL decisions for Disney theme parks come out of CA. Which has been a huge problem in the past. I hope they have learned a little something. Seems like perhaps they have.
