Trish, Roger & Sophia,
this is our First Disney cruise! Our 20yr old college "child" is :( that she will not be able to cruise.... yes we are "meanies" lol

:welcome: ABOARD!!! This is our first ever Disney cruise too! And we're bringing our 24ds, 23dd, and 11dd with us! This meet thread has been a blast, lots of help along the way, and tons of information!

Have some friends in O'Fallon..love that part of St Louis! Glad y'all are making the trip!

We're really excited!

9...NOT to be confused with 10!!! One less than 10!! Nine..rhymes with FINE!!
Really? Do y'all realize in 9 Weeks alot can happen? We can finish our FE's, buy those last minute clothes, get sd cards, camera batteries, shoe holders, flashlights, little clocks, cups2go, magnetic sheets, finish up decorations, book last minute 'happies', save 'tip' dollars, make thank you notes, do alot more cruise stuff, and then of course, sadly just do 'ordinary' life things!!!

And if this doesn't get some of us movin'...:rotfl:

This chik is just ...about....ready!:banana::banana::banana:

I'm working on it!! I'm working on it!!!

trying to get the FEs squared away this week with supplies. had to change em a bit, the actuaql making of em won't take long. Should be able to finish while watching a NASCAR race or 2. Its the getting stuff for em:rotfl2:

Speaking of SD cards, here's a question: they are all universal right? Like a SONY card fits into a Kodak camera, that type of thing:confused3 We typically match card to camera but if I can get another brand cheaper for the cruise as backup then i will as long as I know its useable. Leaned the hard way about not having backups last cruise. Aint making the same mistake this cruise:lmao:

Good morning fellow cruisers. It is that time of the week again. Another week has gone by.
We now have only
arg-9-50-trans.gif

weeks to go to the Magic. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Well, hell:rotfl2:

Where did July go?

I really gotta go shopping now!!

Hey..you can watch that Carl somebody do backflips!!!:rotfl:

Hope you get finished soon! I hit a 'snag' in labeling yesterday as I didn't have some last names, but I'm just gonna use their first and cabin numbers..

It's coming along...:banana::banana::banana:

I'm not sure their all universal Maureen! Depends on your camera I think..I just got a Sony handycam, and need a sd card for it...but it said you could/couldn't use some types. After I figure it out, gonna hit my SAMS club for sure!:thumbsup2

And since I love discounts and savings...right now is a great time for some great deals on sd cards, highlighters, and sharpies due to school supplies being out! And Wally World is price matching everything...just fyi!

Gotta busy day ahead of me today. Onslow is going to the groomer. That boy is LONG overdue:sad2: That's not ALL my fault though. Maybe I'll get around to telling his groomer's story if I get the chance. Also, tis tax free weekend:rolleyes: So will likely get some shopping done while Onslow is being beautified. Even if its just the basics and sharpies for the pillow case.

Will update spreadsheets at some point today. AND for FE players we will start talking about the playing rules sometime this week:thumbsup2

Yes the SD cards are basically the same but I would stick with the name brands. The last thing you want to do is to lose your pics. :scared1: One thing I would recommend to to get one with a lot of memory (ie 8 gb or greater) and higher class level (6 or greater). The class controls the read/write speed. Always have a spare cards and backups. I download my pics everyday to my PC so I do not lose them. If you lose your camera you lose all your pics of the cruise along with it. I would keep your camera and memory cards in your carry ons. Luggage tends to be lost. You have little chance of that happening since you are driving down. Trusting the airlines is another topic. :scared1:

GREAT DEALS OUT THERE!!! :haha:

How's that?

Definitely sticking with name brands, not going for some card i've never heard of, but at work a bunch of times it works out that SONY is cheaper then Kodak. Our camrea is a Kodak, will likely buy a 2nd one before the cruise. At work the 3 SD card offerings are Lexmark, Kiodak and Sony. Not likely to buy the lexmark since htey usually cost more. but you never know.

Last cruise we had a 8GB card in the camera, but it somehow got filled up, partweay into the cruise(rich thinks because we were using high resolution photos...beats me cause as far as I know the camera is always on default:lmao: ) Got another card from Shutters and that 1 got corrupted. Had to buy a throwaway camera on CC:headache: That was a lot of extra money we hadn't planned on spending.

ok Dan..never knew about the 'higher class level ' is that on the pkg? My sony book says :Memory Stick PRO duo-Mark2 media, Memory Stick PRO HG Duo, sd cards, SDHC memory , SDXC memory cards ..however operation with all memory cards is not assured.

So which would you buy? and it says "A multimedia card cannot be used.."and "SDXC cards cannot be imported to or played back ..."

Could definitely use some help in what to buy!!:thumbsup2

SDHC memory card should do just fine. The class is sometimes on the front and sometimes on the back of the package. You will have to look at the packaging. I usually will go with SANDISK but they can be rather pricey. Having a higher class is good if you are taking picture after picture in rapid speed. I get the higher speed for pirate night fireworks. The number of GB you get would depend on how many pics you intent to take. If you are crazy like me :lmao: you go with a 16gb or 32gb. It is all in the $$$ and you can get high $$$ real quick. You can get several lower memory cards for the price of a higher one. It just means you have to change cards.

So what's the difference between just an SD card and SDHC? I'll get as high as I can so I don't need 2 for the cruise for sure. It says I need higher class than 4, so how high does that go too? And thanks for your help!:thumbsup2

And one more thing...do you take pics with your video cam or are you just talking about your camera? I know I can do both with this thing, just not sure whether I should plan on the camera too..

Here is an article for you to explain SD vs SDHC.

I use video only for video. I have a Canon DSLR for pictures. We also have a powershoot camera for those quick setup pics. Very useful when a character all of sudden shows up and you want a quick pic. Setting up a DSLR take a a little bit of time to get out, have the right lens and then focus.

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for the help! Believe I'll have to do some comparison shopping and find 'that little old thing'...for sure...SDHD , class above 4, 16 or 32 gb...will do it!:)

You may want to look at getting 2 8gb cards vs 1 16gb card. You may find the price is less. It is your call.
