The hubby and I are planning on going to see Tron tonight and go out to dinner. I have heard good things about Tron so I am really looking forward to it.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Good morning fellow cruisers. It is that time of the week again. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

tharg-8-50-trans.gif

weeks to go to the Magic. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Evening everybody

Spent the weekend in Rehoboth celebrating a late Christmas and birthdays for me and my 6yo niece. Was cold but really nice. So glad to have seen my family. Back to work tomorrow:sad2: Wish i could retire.

Hope everybody had a great weekend.

How was Tron? Do you need to see the first 1 to understand this one?

Supposed to snow a bit tonight, ice up a bit and rain. Sounds like more fun. :scared1: I have have enough and am heading to Ft Myers FL for the rest of the week. Supposed to be 75 degrees. A whole lot better than the 30 degrees. Too bad I am on the wrong coast from the Port Canaveral and seeing the Dream/Magic.

Can i go with you?

I could use a break from all the cold and crappy weather:sad2: Its a rainy night in the neighborhood down here. Could be getting 2 inches of rain. Oh JOY:headache: Oh I am ready for spring. BOY am I ready for spring:rolleyes1

Sure come on down and join me. I am heading down tomorrow after lunch. I have a 3 bedroom condo down there. It is 35 degrees here and 70 degrees in Ft Myers. It is supposed to snow again here on Friday. Hope to hit the beach while I down there. I'll have to catch the Dream christening on Youtube.

I was watching GMA today and they are down at the Dream. So jealous!!!

You don't have to see the first Tron to understand the new one. Which is a good thing because it is near impossible to find a copy anywhere!

Well I really enjoyed my 3 days off last weekend.:cool1: I now have to go back to working Mon-Fri again. I used to get every other friday off but my co-worker is out on medical leave so it is just me to do the work of 2 people with less pay. Got to love working for the state. I can't complain too much because at least I do have a job and a good one at that which I love.;) I am hoping that something happens to where I have someone else working again so I can take time off. Last vacation, the guys had to take over for me for 7 days while I was at WDW. Took me a week to catch up and fix everything.:rotfl:

Hello, I THINK I am joining you on this cruise...I'm really nervous though. It wasn't my idea and I'm kind of being forced into it. I'll have my husband and two daughters with me, 15 and almost 11 (along with 15 other extended family members!!!).

Do you think there will be other teen girls on the ship?? I haven't been able to read through all these posts and the opening post only lists usernames, not actual names or ages of cruisers so I can't tell.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have questions....

:welcome: aboard.

You will absolutely love the cruise. DCL is awesome and just relax and enjoy. We have really good laid back group here that are friendly and happy to answer any question you may have. I have been on 6 previous cruises including 2 Eastern. So ask away and we'll do our best answer.

Thank you! The other members of my party temporarily booked with AAA. I just put in a request for a quote from DU.

Is DU better than AAA? Is booking by myself through Disney better than any agency?

Not sure how to proceed....

:welcome: katems!! Don't worry about your girls. There will be PLENTY of other girls their age to bond with there. There are lots of things for them to do on the ship and you may not see much of them. Leaves more time for you to relax and enjoy your cruise.:thumbsup2:dance3:

Hey Maureen, do you have an estimate so far of how many people are doing our FE exchange? I have been checking out the thread on that and can't wait to get started. I am just looking to see how many I can start on.

Now, its time to relax and take a deep breath cause I have a sentence for you.

Ready?!

The VACATION of a lifetime!!

That is what is waiting for you on the Magic. And I do mean VACATION!! The crew is practically at your beck and call for the whole trip. And we get Mickey and the gang as a bonus:cheer2:

Feel like crashing a wedding? We can arrange that:rotfl2:

Don't worry about catching up on the thread. Just jump in where ever and ask away. If we don't know the answer we know where you can get them.

But, pretty much you'll find us a nice laid back group of people. Newcomers are ALWAYS welcomed. And we have plenty of time to plan.

As for travel agencies, I book with somebody other than DU, whose name forboden:rolleyes1, but I get knowledgeable people who are kind an helpful, also a smaller agency than DU. Never booked anything with AAA but not sure just how much they'll know about DCL in particular.

:thumbsup2

They may or may not check in on this thread, but there is a whole club for teens on the Magic. Your girls will have an absolute blast.

Don't you love that thread:lmao:

I am NOWHERE near as talented as some of the posters over there. And the money some of them spend on it:scared1: I checked out a ribbon site mentioned. I needed a fainting smiley for that 1.

Anyway, right now it is a small group. Think about 10ish. Lots of time to join though. We will post a deadline eventually, so we can get a final count in. But we have time to decide on that yet.

Yeah, there are tons of ideas.:lmao: Lots of the things I saw were fairly cheap to make that people really liked. Heads up though on plastic toys and such. They need to be really small and not take up lots of space so people won't have to mail them home. I don't leave that much space in our luggage either and it is just us 2.;)

You want to rig it so you have an empty suitcase to stash FE gifts and souvenirs. Honest to God, I have to remember how I did this last time because I packed "just enough" for the cruise that I was able to do it :lmao:

It kills me because I pack too much to go to my mom's house 4hrs away with plenty of shopping, but for cruise I pack great and impress the heck out of the porters. :rolleyes1

If someone knows please tell me how I did this. Its a good thing i have until Oct. to figure it out:rotfl2:

Use of a TA is a personal decision. First is that DCL does not allow any discounting by TAs. Therefore they all will quote the exact same price. The only thing TAs can do is offer an OBC.
DU supports this board and you will find some who love them and some who have issues. They tend to have the higher OBCs but the trade off is DU handles most of there customer communications through emails. If you know DCL and know what you want this works great. If you need a lot of hand holding and have the need to speak to a person then this direction may not be as good for you.
AAA has been getting some bad raps recently with the booking gifts they are offering recently. I happen to think that giving a food basket to some going on a cruise where food is everywhere does not make much sense.
Working directly with DCL is great is you want total control of your ressie but now you have to do all the calls.
We happened to work with a TA who is a friend. It is nice to talk to her over ideas but her help really came in handy on my last cruise. We always fly southwest and you have to check in 24 hours in advance. Well unfortunately we are on CC 24 in advance so we depend on her to check us in. Well on the last cruise the southwest checkin site went down. Well for several hours she kept trying to check us in and finally got us in. I was initially have nightmares of my family getting C passes and spread out though out the plane.:scared1::scared1:

Good luck with your choice and hope all works out with your family. You should also note that DCL offers discounts for booking a bunch of cabins therefore if you are booking 8 or more a call would be order.
