Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

Girl! I am WITH you on the post cruise blues...(sounds like a country song:rotfl2:)...If it weren't for planning a bride's wedding, Halloween, Thanksgiving, dd's role in A Christmas Carol and Christmas, I think I'd be really sad! Just thank goodness there's much to do and keep my mind off my withdrawals..:rotfl2: Guess we'll just have to be about doing the damage of booking another...I'm watching..popcorn:: And you're counting down the days already...:yay::yay::yay:!!!!

Let me know when you book. My sister is on the Fantasy December week of Christmas next year, I had contemplated moving our cruise to that date but it seemed like it would be so cold to be in the water and I'm a cold water ninny. It's it's less than 70 degress, I won't get in it. DS is too.:lmao:

It is raining and sleeting right now with snow on the way. :scared1: I need to go back to the caribbean. :cool1: :cool1:

After record setting double digits of over 100 degree days this summer, we finally are enjoying some beautiful sunny 60-70s and I'm getting out there to enjoy every minute of it. :cloud9:

Alan, I keep looking at your 15 days on the Disney Wonder and just think that is going to be a GREAT cruise. Wish we were doing that cruise too.

It should be a great one. I know we are really looking forward to it. We are of course hopping for calm waters but get if it gets rough that's the price we will pay for taking a vacation on the ocean.

I had the fun of driving thru that mess yesterday! :scared1: Had DDs Sr night at Penn State on Friday night, then DS game at Drexel on Sat night. Got a call that they moved his game to 2pm, tried to leave State College and get to his game. . . didnt get back to Philly until about 5pm, but they ended up postponing the Drexel game until Tues so I missed it anyhow :sad1: It was not a fun drive from State College to Philly, but pretty used to those type of road conditions. Biggest problem was I was drivin a little economy 2WD rental, and not my 4WD CRV. Oh well, made it back and was able to spend the evening with DS before he kicked me out so he could go to a Halloween party ;) (luckily for me, it was at his house, so I know he wasn't going far! Hope you all back there are safe, warm and with power today!

Wow, you made it through.:thumbsup2 Even my die hard FIL PSU fan skipped the football game yesterday. I heard it started snowing early in the morning and did not stop until late that night. :scared1: We watched the game safely on TV on my couch. :lmao: We are just glad you are safe. WE ARE :thumbsup2 Serena (Cinderelly) had 10 inches in Harrisburg.

Sounds about right. I left State College around 11am, it had been snowing most of the morning. The roads there were just wet, but by the time I got on to 322 two lane, it was already getting slushy. It took me about 2.5 hrs to get to Harrisburg. By the time I got on the turnpike the roads were bad, with cars off the roads and trees down on the roads. Slow and steady, nothin new for me! Thanks for caring!

I just want to again thank you for making me realize why I put up with Southern Cal.

Glad you made it home well. You had two interesting weeks on the Magic. We had the first two days on a 800 foot see saw but then everything was great. The Western after us seemed to be the Magical Mystery tour. The DIS thread were tracking you heading right past Key West heading for Cozumel instead of Grand Cayman. Then the Magic headed for Costa Maya. How was Costa Maya? What did you do there? We are headed there next June on the Fantasy. We are jealous of you doing a double dip again. :rolleyes1

:woohoo: Just a shout out!!! Got lots of Mickey Mail yesterday, and this chik was just about giddy!:banana: Been on the phone with DCL all morning trying to rebook (again) with a 10% discount (yep, take what I can get) and asked about cancelling if I could rebook into 2013. Oh my goodness, they've put me on hold for 30 minutes. :rotfl2:

And then I got more Mickey mail for WDW for the spring with free dining! stay/play/dine....so WHAT to do?:confused3 My dh laughed at me, and said "Wow, Mickey and Minnie made your day!" He was SO right! Whoo hoo!:woohoo:

What was the outcome of your call?

:rolleyes1Well......drum roll please...........

I am REBOOKED! But :rotfl: not really? Just enough to give them my cold hard cash...:rotfl2: My card said I had to rebook by Dec of this year, so I got on the phone quick. What I really want is a 2013 date, as I also really want a trip to WDW next spring. I feel bad for all those 'wants'...and they may or may not come true. However, after almost an hour on the phone ( I do wonder if she knew what she was doing as she kept saying ..."Let me go check"..) I rebooked for Oct '12 on the Dream. However, I told her we never know dh's schedule and won't have a clue as to our dates for a while. I asked specifically if I had to cancel and rebook in 2013, could I keep that 10% discount and she said yes. But, she wouldn't allow me more than one cabin. She did say if my adult kids get their snailmail, THEN we could check on getting cabins together. I'll worry about that one when time comes. I just knew if I wanted that 10% I had to book by Dec. I also asked since I was using my Disney Visa if I would get a obc with the visa, and she said "Not with this promotion". But I'll take it anyway and see what happens when the Magic's 2013 dates come out. Still tickled pink anyway. My 20% down was still cheaper than the 10% down she quoted me ON the ship!:scared1: So, this chik is tickled Pink!:cutie:

So I am confused. You wanted a 2013 date but booked a dummy date for 2012 when the Dream and Fantasy are open for bookings in 2013. Are you waiting for the Magic and/or Wonder to come out?

lol, I'm sorry Alan. Yes, I want the Magic or Wonder. Don't really care to do the bigger ships. Our first and only cruise before this one was on Navigator of the Seas RCCL, and REALLY don't want to be on the mega ships. I know they will be nice just because they're Disney, they're new and magical, but I'd just as well sail again on the Wonder and/or the Magic after her drydock.
And I really wouldn't want to do a 3 or 4 nighter, with our distance from all the ports, time wise, it just wouldn't be feasable. Make sense? Or am I as clear as mud?:rotfl2:

Makes sence but may I offer this idea, call back and book a 7 night on the Fantasy that you think you may take incase there is nothing that may interest you on the Magic or Wonder in 2013. That way at least you get a better price. That's what we did with Hawaii. We booked a cruise we would take on the Fantasy in oct 2012 just in case. Well then they said Hawaii in April so we just moved it and kept our 10% off and OBC.
