Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

We were there on 10/16/09 and 10/22/10. We were all stung at the family beach. :scared1:

I've read many good reviews of Sea Safe. I was always under the impression that sea lice problems occurred generally from April to August, and worst "from Mother's Day to Father's Day" as the old Bahamian wives' tale has it.

Has anyone tried "Sea Safe"? We have been stung by sea lice the last two times at CC and are giving this product a try this time around. Anyone try it?

Never tried it:confused3 I don't even know where to get it. I'll have to check work i guess.

Well jelly fish are at the mercy of wherever the current blows them.

Either I haven't been paying attention or haven't asked yet, but does anyone else on here have any lil ones they are taking on the cruise? We have 2 DD's 8&4, and just wondering if they will have any playmates.

My DDs are 4 and 9(we will be celebrating her 9th birthday on the ship)

Actually my youngest is now 5 lol I keep forgetting she got another year older(or I'm just in denial that she's growing up)

Glad to hear that there will be playmates for the lil ones. Appreciate the replies and can't wait to meet everyone onboard.

I have a DS that is 5. And hoping he will make a friend and have a playmate on the cruise as well.

Good morning fellow cruisers.

Well, so much for trying out doggie day camp before the cruise.

The camp we want to try has space for him on Friday, but unfortunately my week is so busy we don't have time to get the evaluation he needs done before thursday if they can't do it today. And they don't do the evals on weekends:headache:

Oh well, probably best to stick with current routine until after the cruise anyhow. I'm just wishing he could do this because he seems ready for this kind of thing. He hasn't always been the kind of doggie I'd that I think would do well in that kind of environment. But that's been changing in the past few months.

We tried Doggy Day camp for our two Poms last month when we went away for a wedding in VT. The little one loved it! I liked that I could log onto their webcam and see her playing at any time, which was nice. But she had a ball playing with new friends.

The older one, as expected, just snoozed. But since we are away for a longer period this time, we are sticking with the vet for boarding. It is a bit more expensive, but the older one has medical issues and I feel better knowing that she is in good hands that know her condition and care for her. The little one can have fun anywhere. She's a hoot.

But at the end of the day, it will be an extra $1000 to board the both of them for the 10 days we are gone. Ouch!

For Sea Lice, the Sea Safe prevents the sting (and sunburn too), but if you get bitten, vinegar or rubbing alcohol neutralize the venom stingers.

So if you get bit, as your stateroom host if you could get some vinegar, or bring some from home, just in case.

Just happened to be on FB for the latest Foot's tropical update. Its official we now have Tropical storm Ophelia in the Atlantic. No guesses on where she's headed for if anywhere yet. But she's very very big.

According to NOAA it is going to take a northwest turn, a very slight turn and right now hit St Martren and St Thomas either Sat or Sun.
