Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

We're doing MNSSHP on the 18th, after the cruise when DH comes to WDW to meet me there! We will also be doing F&W which we have never done before! :cool1:

Here is our typical pirate night attire, not much but we have fun! Bandanas, tatoos, and black, white and red!

Mary

Two questions.

1. What is MNSSHP? (I think someone already asked this...)
2. Those tattoos are so cute! Did you purchase them onboard or beforehand?

Thank you! :thumbsup2

Answer to #1 is: Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. It is a great party but I will not be able to go.:sad1: The kids get to trick or treat and stuff plus they have lots else going on. It is a separate thing that you have to pay for and they close MK for everyone else.

Ok, my mind is on overload. :headache: Please bear with me.

So we have the meet at 3 by the Goofy/Mickey pool (Arielvision screen). Then we have a picture on Pirates night between dinners in the atrium?

I'm gonna need a handout or something with these planned meetings. Too much planning, waiting, frustration, preparing, packing, and buying for me to keep my head straight! :rotfl2:

I'll be happy once my flight lands in MCO on time. Until then, hello nightmare. :scared1:

Yes those of us who dress up who want to be in the picture will meet up but it shouldn't take very long.:confused3 We thought it would be fun to do that and I wouldn't worry about trying to get everything in since there is still 24 days to figure it all out.:rotfl: Seriously, please don't stress about it all..

Hi everyone! The few I talk to on FB have already heard this but I haven't been online because I was on the Dream last week:cool1: She's beautiful but the trip is way too short!!! Just a note for those in the fish extender game..... we had SEVERAL cabins who were not part of our official game but who hung fish extenders. We never figured out why or if they were playing their own game or what was up. Some people had extra gifts & delivered to them also but most didn't. It was kind of frightening & time consuming to come across them & have to look up the specific names to see if somebody had changed cabins or what, or if we'd messed up our list. Most people marked the gifts they were giving out & I never saw anything with these cabin numbers from them in my goodies. Just a heads up in case this happens again. Also, for those of you traveling with kids, one of the Moms suggests that you carry a bag for your cabin with each child's name on it for them to put their own gifts into. This way they won't be fighting over who gets what. I'd never thought of it but if the only other person in my cabin wants to fight over gifts he can have them:rotfl:

Don't forget that we aren't the only message board that does this. While we are the most popular one, there are other smaller boards that have "Fish Extender-type" gift giving. I think they just call their "Fish Extenders" something else, but they look the same.

Well I've had an adventerous week at work!

I had an identity crisis yesterday.

It seems that our IT department, in their infinite wisdom, recieved my request for a name change to be effective for Oct 1st, and decided to do it on September 10th. The only problem is, they didn't change my LAST name, they changed my FIRST name. And then they didnt tell me.

So I spent all morning long on the phone trying to figure out why my passwords weren't working. Even had the passwords reset by IT and still didnt work. It wasn't until an hour later that the guy decided to check what I was logging in as...and I said Elizabeth. He goes "No, Liz". I said it has never been Liz as long as I have worke d here. Well, it was yesterday.

So my email address changed (and they didnt do a redirect) so I wasnt getting any emails. None of my programs at work that I needed would work.

It seems they changed my name, and then realized that it wasn't supposed to happen until Oct 1st and put it back, but instead of putting Elizabeth, they put Liz and all the links broke. It was a fun day!

Wow Beth, what a bummer!:scared1: If they are anything like the IT people we deal with here at the State then it is an ALL day fix. Hope they don't decide to change your first name in Oct too.

1. Yep, Laura is right on . . Mickeys Not-so-scary Halloween Party. We have done the MVMCP (Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party), but this will be our first Halloween Party, and yes, we are lucky to get the DVC discount!

2. The tatoos we actually get on the ship, they give them out at the DVC desk! They change from year to year. We saved ours from a couple cruises ago. The ones they had on our last cruise had a big DVC logo on them and a smaller character. We like the bigger ones with just the character heads, not sure we have too many more tho, hoping they have more of the good ones this cruise! :thumbsup2

Every once in a while I am just sitting here and it hits me that I am going on Another Disney cruise in just over three weeks!!  :cool1:

And here she is!! :thumbsup2

I was so excited that on the Dream the pirates night is scheduled so well. The family party is BETWEEN first & second dinners, meaning that those on first seating have time to make it to the party after dinner & those with late seating will get to the party & not have to leave early to make it to dinner. Then the fireworks are done at 10:30. Nobody has to rush to do anything. But I see that the Magic hasn't adopted this schedule! So once again we have to rush thru late dinner to get to the party on time. This usually means not only no dessert, but sometimes we have to hurry to finish entrees.

Speaking of dinners, who has what seating?

But we were on the Dream in July and we MUCH prefered the pirate party on the smaller ships. I'm so happy that my newbie sister will get to see the original pirate party. My kids were really disappointed with the show on the Dream. Everyone has their preferences, I for one am happy the Magic is sticking with the original party. I know on pirate night the servers at the second seating go CRAZY trying to get everyone out to the party in time. Even though we may not be hungry enough to eat anything at the buffet, the party is where its at. Just my humble opinion.

And we are in the main dining this cruise, which will be something different for me, but my parents needed the earlier dining time.

As I was thinking about the task of locating all the rooms of those participating in our FE group so we could deliver our gifts, I decided that what I really needed was a good map of the decks showing where each room was located.

An hour (or so) later I thought maybe my map was good enough to share. An hour (or so) after that I finally had created a pdf version that I thought others could print and use.

I used the information from the FE spreadsheet, highlighted each room on the map and added names.

Here's a sample of the map (the whole map is too large to post here):

If anyone is interested in pdf version of the whole map that you can print (it fits on one letter-sized sheet) just PM me and I'll send a link where you can download it. I thought about posting the link here, but the paranoid, Internet-security phobic part of me wouldn't let me do it, even though all the info is already available in this thread.

I hope the map can be helpful for members of the FE exchange.

Good morning all. Just sitting around watching the greatest T.V. show ever, Cheers. While watching it I glanced at the NOAA website. Right now the storm off of Africa only has a 10% chance of becoming a major storm. So that sounds like good news to me.

:thumbsup2:cool1: Can I just say 'How COOL is that!!!! That really helps put into perspective the ship and floors and where everyone is at! Of course, I pm'd you, but it also helps with names! In my mind, I pictured walking down the halls, looking for FE's, verifying rooms to names to FE's...:rotfl: And then when I see everyone? With all these Dis names, it's gonna be hard to remember Who's Who!
