Magic In November with lots of pics!! (COMPLETED!)

DAY FOUR PART ONE~ Hanging out at Epcot!

It was a bright beautiful morning on our last full day of our getaway. Some of the knowledge that we’re going home tomorrow was sinking in. Only two more Mickey wake up calls! We took a vote and decided to spend our day at Epcot. Where else?
DSC02004.jpg

After a ride on Soarin’ while I got fast passes for Test Track, we bummed around Mousegears. It didn’t bother me as much today (to be broke) and we all decided that DH should definitely wear these for the rest of our trip.

He voted us down.

Look at the pretty monorail!
At Test Track, Em and DH put a test car through its paces whiled Jake and I drooled over the show cars at the end of the ride. I sat in a Torrent that just fit me like a glove. I showed it to DH, but he shot that one down too. Em was very interested in making the necklace at the Kidcot spot at the end of Test Track, but she’d done it so many times before and we were starving, so we all shot her down. (Remember this, however. It will come back into play later.)
After our lunch at Sunshine Seasons, we began to make our way around the world. After a ride on the river of time, we stopped at the Kidcot so Em can start a mask. (Yes, we have a ton of them at home, but I gave in this time.)
Em saw Mulan in China.

and had a ride on her favorite elephant.

Here we are back in the gardens. I can’t believe we’ve never done that before. It was beautiful.
DSC02011.jpg

I think that was the longest we’ve ever spent in China!
In Germany, we discovered a giant lizard trying to take over the train garden. Flee, villagers! Flee for your lives!
apl013.jpg

Hanging out in Italy. Have you ever seen more relaxed looking people?
apl010.jpg

What is this? Has Jake become a thief?
DSC02013.jpg

After we’ve hit all the countries and Em’s mask is complete, we finally make it to the reason I’ve walked all this way.
OFF KILTER!!!
apl011.jpg

After three sets, they again forced me to leave to swim. (Swim? I’m expected to swim when Off Kilter is playing?) As we are walking away, Em decided to try to get their autographs. Tony came over to talk to us and helped round everyone up. While they are signing, I heard DH shout, “What is that, Lynn? You want a picture with the band?” Before I can walk away, they dragged me over and here we are.
DSC02026.jpg

If I had known I was gonna get to meet them, I definitely would have worn something prettier. If there was one of those little thought bubbles over my head, you would see, “ Oh my gosh, I’m standing right next to Jamie!!!” I tried to be cool as we walked away but I know I was giggling like little girl! I’m sure they thought I was insane.
Well, by now you know the drill. Swimming, napping, downloading pictures. While we are swimming, Em begian to whine again about not being able to make the necklace at the Kidcot stations in Future World. I do feel a little guilt about making her sit through all the sets with Off Kilter (she’s not good with loud, so she wears earplugs), so I began to formulate a plan. After discussing it with DH, I put my plan in motion. It’s called bribery. If Jake will take Em around to make her necklace, I’ll buy him a pin of choice at the pinstation. He’s a sucker for pins, so he agrees. Once we pass under Spaceship Earth, we head for Canada, they head towards Test Track. As I watch them walk away, I began to have second thoughts. Did I really just send them off alone? Oh course, I did. This is WDW. What could happen? What if they get hurt or separated? Will they know what to do? Sensing my thoughts, DH offered to secretly follow them. No, we’ve got to give them this chance to prove they can handle themselves. We proceeded to Canada in silence.
On a lighter note, here’s Off Kilter after dark.
DSC02045.jpg

About half way through the first set, Jake and Em were back with us. Em was so proud of her necklace. Jake and I hurried to the pin station between sets to fetch the pin he earned. When I asked him if he had any trouble with Em, he said that she had wanted to go to the Seas before the Land and when he told her no, she began to cry. He stopped dead in his tracks and said, “Do you wanted me to take you back to Canada right now?” She hushed right up and he didn’t have anymore problems. He didn’t find a pin he liked, so he settled for Goofy from Canada. So Em got her necklace, I got my Off Kilter, Jake got his Goofy and DH got his Illuminations. Don’t you love happy endings?

Up Next: DAY FIVE~ The one we’ll never forget!!

Only one more day left to post!! :sad1: Then I can work on my pretrippie for June!!

I love your trip report:love:

Gives me ideas how to make mine when the May 28th time comes..:goodvibes princess:

We also have never spent much time in China. After seeing your pictures I definitely want to take our time there this summer. Plus, we have never found Mulan, and my youngest daughter wants to meet her so badly! Now I know where to look!

Can't wait for more!

DAY FIVE ~ THE ONE WE’LL NEVER FORGET!!

Today we will go home. We have so needed this trip, to reconnect, to be together, to have a fresh start. But we aren’t leaving just yet. It’s only six hours to get home, so DH announced we are going to have a last morning at Animal Kingdom. AK was darn hot in the summer, so we’ll see if it’s any better in November.
We arrived early. That’s my fault. I’m always 15 minutes ahead for appointments and return my library books on time too. Don’t hate me. Anyway, throughout our trips, we’ve found a great way to pass the time waiting for parks to open. The kids build card houses. Here’s one for the resort room this summer.
jakes054.jpg

So we set up right in front of a turnstile and start building away. The kids enjoy it because it passes the time and people come over to talk to us. We always bring extra cards in case other kids want to join in. If you ever see us, come on over!!
Back to our story. We were building away when a cast member came over to Em to say Good morning. Em said hi and the lady asked her if she could help her open the park. Em jumped up and said YES!!!! We were whisked through the turnstiles and into Guest relations. They dressed her up in a little cast member shirt and gave her a maraca to shake. HERE SHE IS!!!!

novWDW003.jpg

apl009.jpg

The lady told us that they would do the countdown, we would dance around while shaking the maraca, then she would take the shirt back quickly so we could be first ones on the safari! YES!!!! It was fun. I can’t believe we didn’t film it, but honestly we didn’t think of it until after. We were in shock!! It was Emily’s dream! AK is her absolute Favorite.
After we opened the park, the cast member took the shirt and I just had to hug her. I wish I knew her name. She doesn’t know how happy she made us all. We were whisked away toward the Tree of Life where more cast members were waiting. See, no one is here.
apl008.jpg

Here we all are.
dis0042.jpg

Not only did we open the park, now we were going to help hold the rope all the way to the Safari. Here’s one side of the rope.
novWDW008.jpg

Don’t I look scared!! You’ll see why in a minute.
Here’s Jake’s side of the rope.
novWDW009.jpg

And here’s why I was scared. All these people were behind us trying to get to the Safari!!!
novWDW010.jpg

See that wedding couple. They were in the jeep behind us as special guests. Here comes the Jeep! Hi Minnie!!!
dis0032.jpg

We walked behind the jeep and got to hear the whole little show.
novWDW013.jpg

When we got to the safari, we were turned over to more cast members who took us around a back way to the first jeep. Straight into the front seat. Here’s our driver.
dis0041.jpg

He was great, teasing Jacob about being the cause of our bridge almost collapsing.
We saw lots of animals.
novWDW033.jpg

novWDW027.jpg

novWDW040.jpg

And then it was over. As we walked out of the Safari, we were just in shock. Did that all really happen? I just wanted to sit down and take it in for awhile. But we were limited in time before we needed to be on the road. Straight to Rafiki’s Planet watch. Nice train.
novWDW050.jpg

Love this statue.
dis0034.jpg

Rafiki was there to greet us.
novWDW012.jpg

In the petting place, we saw a very interesting sheep.
novWDW051.jpg
Cute!!
We had pizza at Pizzafari, talked with a very funny cast member and talked about our trip. I must say it was memorable from start to finish. We didn’t have a lot of money, but we had a lot of fun. We got away from it all and had a dream come true. What more could you ask for in a Disney vacation? See ya next time!

THE END

Yay for you guys! That was an awesome way to end your trip and an awesome TR! Are you really done? *sniff*sniff*sniff*

My goodness, you are fast!! Yep, that's the end......BUT I've got my pretrip report for June ready to go and I'm fixing to post it!!! 60 more days!!

Great report! Loved all the pics. Looking forward to your pre-trippie!

Wow! That is so awesome! How cool to be able to help open the park! Yay! I'm sorry to see your trip report end, but I'll be looking for your pre-trip report!

Twingle Thanks for posting! I'll have so many more pics in my next trip report. It gave me so many new ideas!!

IATink I still can't believe it happened to us!! I'm going to try to put a link in my siggie to the pretrip (which is now up!). This week is the saga of tye dye mickey head shirts!!

I'm glad you had such a great time. I really enjoyed this trip report and can't wait for the next one!

For not having much money for the trip you really seemed to have a great time.
I bet Em is still glowing about opening up the park, what a great experience.
Thanks for sharing you Trip, I enjoyed it very much

Thanks for reading! Em still refers to it as "her park"! It was a memeory we will always treasure. I am so ready to go back!!!

Lynn,

Thanks so much for sharing your Disney trip with us. I finally caught up and loved your latest chapters.

Your AK adventure sounds amazing. Wow! Emily looked adorable in her CM costume. Hopefully it gave her career ideas for the future and that way you'll get the CM discount on rooms! :teeth:

I can't get over your photos from World Showcase. On our last trip we vowed that we would finally explore WS in detail but once more the time seemed to slip away and we left there with so much left undone. The gardens in China look absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see them myself on our next trip! I wouldn't have even known to look for them if I hadn't seen your pics! Thanks!!

Sounds like Jake took really good care of Em when they went to make her necklace. I was laughing (and very impressed!!) at his comeback to her ("right now!"). He sounds so responsible. :)

You must be so excited about your next trip. Can't wait to hear all about that!! :woohoo:

I am glad you enjoyed it 'cause I sure am enjoying yours! Thanks for your compliment on the pictures. That's all Chuck (my DH). He is on the boards too, but too shy to post. ( Hey Chuck!) There's also a beautiful garden in Japan that Jake and I usually wander through. You've got to check that out too, when you go back.
I was so nervous about letting them go off alone, but they did well. It's so hard to let go, but I'm trying. :)
Thanks for your post. We are so excited about the next trip. I wish it was tomorrow.

I know. In the last year I've been letting go, little bits at a time and it is very hard. My eldest child turns 13 tomorrow. I can't believe he's a teenager. But those are happy tears too as I'm so proud of him. :cloud9:

That's all Chuck (my DH). He is on the boards too

Hey Chuck!! Thanks to you too for sharing your family trip with us. You have a beautiful family. :goodvibes
