Magic in Northern Europe May 30 2015

I would love to see what kinds of Port Adventures DCL offers for the Baltic cruise. If you can post some that would be great!

I havent kept a list from 2010 (silly me) but if you haven't seen this, a video blog its very good on cruise critic.

DCL had a Character ball at Catherines palace St Petes and also had long shore trips to the Hermitage, Peterof, Catherines palace as well as Evening ballet tours.

I personally booked with a local operator Anastasia travel and had two wonderful and full days with them I filled in more than the DCL trips would allow as times and days clashed on theres.

Many booked in 2010 with them and i know many of our group have booked now with them for 2015.

DCL plan to have special trips like the vaults of the hermitage.

Most other ports you can go DIY the cities are close, Tallinn is a stones throw from the cruise pier care there is development there late this year, and you can walk it or get a short taxi.

Stockholm is close, I have booked a private tour, avoid the long day Sigtuna tour there it is not worth it, stay in the capital and visit Vasa museum, Royal Palace and Abba museum.

Copenhagen is compact with a good HOHO, I am in the process of booking private tours there, DCL did a good canal and walk tour in 2010 with a nice lunch.

Helsinki is a bit further from the port, i think we will have a shuttle, i have booked a private tour there.

Is anyone here apprehensive about the political climate getting so much attention in the Baltics recently? I'm cautiously optimistic that things will calm down, however I am being reserved in my excitement for the cruise... well... just in case it doesn't work out.

Hi All, just back from the WBTA and really enjoyed taking part in the FE and Candy Swap, are either of these already planned?
Thanks

I think most people have agreed that bringing FE gifts would be difficult, however, there was talk of a recipe exchange...but nothing has been made official.

I was hoping there would be more "action"" here as the date approaches.

I'm bummed that the nighttime palace with characters is not listed as a disney excursion. I read a review about it and was hoping to see it on our cruise.

Does Disney ever update /change excursions?

We called Disney and they said he excursions posted are just examples based on previous trips. The actual excursions will be posted sometime near January when people can actually start signing up. I also hope the palace is an excursion as I read on a St. petersburg website Catherine's palace is closed the day we are at port so it would be the only way to see it.

I, too, have been looking at the excursions. Do you think one would be able to do a day tour, and then the night boat tour (or character event)? I noted that one of the tours is 8.5 hours, might be tough getting back for a night tour. Do you think the exact times (start / end) will be posted for the excursions?

Here is hoping!!! That would be amazing :cool1:

I'd like to know this too! Still reading thru the posts, so maybe it's here, but thought I'd post to get my post # to 10 so I can use PMs. :P
Thanks!

Ooh, exciting! Could someone please tell me who to contact to get added to the FB page? It would seem that's where all the action is. Thanks!

Keep posting :) You have to get to 10 so we can message you as well. :thumbsup2

Who is organizing the postcard/recipe exchange? We cannot fit FE into our luggage for such a big trip but would like to connect with many of you in some way :goodvibes . Where there are people from so many varied locations the postcard idea sounded very interesting. Is it possible to keep this site updated as well to all who may not be receiving information elsewhere?
Getting pretty excited!! Still a long time to wait but soon at least we will be on the same calendar :thumbsup2

We will be joining y'all on our b2b EBTA. We will be booking next week whi:cool1:le on board the Magic (our tenth DIS cruise)

That's good news on the excursions. Thank you for sharing! I am crossing my fingers for the princess palace thing. That would be amazing!

It would be awesome :goodvibes

I tried to add my other daughter to this cruise, but ABD is sold out, so I cannot add her without taking that off. If the Palace goes through, I will cancel ABD and just go to the palace ball.

:cool1:

Paid in Full dance time!!! That somehow makes it all the more real. Got our confirmation showing zero balance and our insurance packet. Sending off to renew my passport tomorrow. Getting my little ducks in a row...
