Posts have been removed from a number of Cruise Meets threads including this one.

Please review the Cruise Meet Policy regarding Cruise Meet and Fish Extender programs. - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3353477

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, "search" directions).

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

Hello all!
We are really excited about our family's first Disney cruise. We just have no idea where to begin to register/sign up for the Fish Extender lists. I was simply directed here but this doesn't seem to be the right spot. We're sailing on the Feb. 1 Caribbean cruise.
In advance, many, many thanks!!!

Hi

I will be traveling on this cruise with my husband and 4 year old daughter. I just heard about fish extenders can I still join? I know my daughter would love it.

Thanks

Kaija from San Antonio tx

Webmaster Doc,

It appears that I am unable to reply to your message. Can you supply me the correct way of answering these questions? It isn't a matter of "not wanting to organize the FE on the Dis" as you put it.

Hi Jen,
Please add our family to the FE list. We are Talia and Robert and our kiddos are Téa (10) and Peyton (6).
As another poster asked, when will you need the cabin number (not yet assigned)?

Another question...are we in Group C? How would we get that final list? Is it simply posted here? We're first timers! Don't know how the process works yet so thank you for your help!

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM. The organizer can also post a list of those participating right in the thread and update the list as more staterooms are added.

A lot of cruises have been doing this since their threads began and many more started doing it recently.

Fellow cruisers, if anyone is looking at excursions while in Cozumel on the 5th my family and I are looking at a sailing trip that includes snorkeling, deep sea fishing, lunch, drinks, and a day on a trimaran that can hold up to 26 people but they never book over 16 people. If you are interested, look up the Tucan Sailing Adventure on cozumelsailing (I can't type out the entire website right now). They need at least 6 adults for the trip to go on and after talking with the staff they prefer to have at least two families on the trip, so that it isn't a boat filled with adults and then one couple with a child. The minimum age for kids is 5 but after talking with the staff I was told my 4 1/2 year old is close enough. He does know how to snorkel and is very comfortable in the water but we still always bring a life jacket just in case. We don't usually book through the cruise ship as we are comfortable in Cozumel and know who to go through and know how to get around while in port. Taxis are cheap and safe and take you right to where they pick us up for the adventure. If interested, look at it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Would be nice to have the boat occupied with fellow Disney cruisers especially with children.

Hi,

My family would love to get in a group for the FE. I have 2 children. Shannon (11) and Patrick (13).

Thanks and Happy New Year!:goodvibes

Hi all--
This is my first post, so I apologize if it isn't in the right place. We are getting ready to sail on our first Disney cruise, and I have heard so much about the fish extenders, that we really want to try them. Is it too late to be added to a group?

It will be my husband, myself, and our two boys (age 4--although we are celebrating his 5th birthday on the cruise and age 2).

Thanks!
Kathy

PS Any tips/advice on the fish extenders or Disney cruise in general would be welcome!

Hey there!!!! I am Jennifer. I am the one that is organizing the FE. You are actually in Group C as of right now. We decided that 15 staterooms would be a good size for each group. As of right now, counting your family, group C has 5 staterooms. The "deadline" to sign up for the FE is December 1st. I feel that more will sign up the closer it gets to cruise time and getting closer to 15 staterooms won't be a problem. Hope that all makes sense!!

So, basically how it all works is that you make/buy gifts for the people in your group. It is up to you if you want to do just one "family" gift or gifts for each person in the family. It is also your choice to give one thing one day or multiple days. The point is just to have fun and spread a little magic around.

You might hear the term pixie dusting. An example of that would be if you are in group C and you give a gift to someone in group B, or someone that has a fish extender hanging but is not involved in the FE at all. You just pixie dusted them some of that good ol' Disney Magic!!! :)

Have fun with it. It is always the thought that counts.

Oh, ok. As far as the cut off date to sign up, that was started to have time with the Holidays to get everything together for the cruise. If for some reason group C isn't close to 15 staterooms I may push the deadline another couple weeks. (Another option was to split group C and divide it up between the other two groups.. This may stress out my pre-planner buddies as they are done with all their shopping and gifts!) I welcome any suggestions. :)

Welcome to the group! We should all have a great time!
Is it too late to sign up for fish extenders?

Hi all--sorry to hound this board tonight, but doing some planning now that Christmas festivities are over :)

I have never done a Disney cruise before, and I have only cruised two other times before. This is my first time cruising with my almost 5 and 2 year old together, and I am having trouble finding family themed excursions/things to do. My older son is very comfortable with swimming, and wants to try snorkeling while we are on the cruise (he got a nice snorkel for Christmas)--are there places at Castaway Cay, where I can just take him into the water myself and snorkel? Obviously my 2 year old wouldn't be snorkeling with us, so I hate to pay for an excursion that we can't all participate on.

We are planning to just walk around and explore Key West on our own. My husband and I have been to Cozumel before, so have some experience with excursions there, but any advice about good and bad options in Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay?

Thanks--we are getting so excited about the cruise--can't believe how close it is!
Kathy
