I have seen references to this on the boards..can any fill me in on the details of what it is/how much? thanks!

We have this tour booked for May 7th, it takes place at the Magic Kingdom and from what I read sounds like a very fun tour for kids and kids at heart ;)

Here's a link to All Ears where I found a good description.

http://allearsnet.com/btp/tours.htm#fmt

It's 25 dollars per person, they offer a discount for AAA, Disney Visa and DVC, I believe. I used the AAA discount and saved 15%.

I will write a review when I get back and let you all know how it went!

HTH!

I've booked this for our upcoming trip in April; here are 2 links that will be very helpful for you!

This first link is the basic information (cost, etc):
Family Magic Tour

This second link is what people here on the boards had to say about it:
FMT Discussion

Hope this helps! :)

How far in advance does one generally book? i know I want to go to Disney Late September, but I really dont like booking to far in advance because you never know what you are in the mood for 5 months from now lol

I generally book tours as far out as I know that I will definitely commit to doing it that day...(did that sentence even make any sense???! :rotfl: )

In other words, it will never be too soon to book the tours, as they can load up really fast, and they will only do so many tours, per day. I would say that once you firm up your itinerary, it would be a good idea to go ahead and book the tour. :)
