Can anyone help us understand the Magic Express luggage pickup? When we get to Orlando airport, do we have to pick up our luggage ourselves at the baggage claim area or do we just go to the Disney counter and turn in our claim check to them and they will pick up our luggage for us...We are having trouble understanding the notice that we have gotten with our booklet. Is their someone that well help us at the airport and let us know what we are suppose to do? Our is there anyone on this site that can help us. We leave on Wed. Jan.21st.. Thanks:confused3

You put the magic express tags on your bags that come with your travel documents. At the airport, you don't need to get your own bags, they get pulled for you and sent to your resort. At the airport, there's a magical express check-in desk. You go to the desk and they check your vouchers for magical express. Then you get on line according to your resort and get funneled to a bus that goes to that resort (or to a few resorts). Your bags will arrive after you at the resort and will be taken directly to your room. I've had the bags delivered anywhere from about an hour after arrival to about 4 hours after we arrived. When you depart, if you're doing the airline check-in at the resort, they can tag your bags and take them to the airport for you so you don't need to bring them on the magical express. If not, you would bring them to the magical express bus yourself.

Laurita explained it perfectly. Of course, you always have the option to just go get your bags yourself and take them on the ME with you to the hotel. We always go that route just to prevent that 1 in a million situation where bags get lost or delayed by an inconveniently long time.

Something to consider with Magical Express: Your resort may not be first in the line up or even fourth. Give yourself an hour to get from the airport to your resort. So if you're a little hungry or maybe need to go to the bathroom, go before you get on the bus. FWIW, my trip to Port Orleans took the better part of an hour, while my trip to the Contemporary took about 20 minutes. I know that at least one time we had to wait for the bus to fill for about for ten minutes.

I had the first time ME jitters, too. That booklet made it sound kind of complicated. However, I put the ME tag on my bag before leaving home, checked in at the airport like usual and didn't see my bag again until it was delivered to my room at the POP about 3 hours after I got there.:thumbsup2

What happens once we arrive at Pop? Are we able to leave our carry on's there and start to enjoy our vacation ?We have no idea what we have to do...Dumb I guess!!! Do the ME buses have restrooms just incase it takes a bit longer to arrive at your resort?

I arrived at the POP about 7 p.m., so my room was ready when I checked in and I didn't have to deal with what to do with my carry-ons. Yes, you get all your coupons and tickets when you check-in.

if your room is not ready - you can leave your carry on with luggage service (if you want too)

you will be given a card with a phone number to call for the room ready.

when you check in you will be given everything - also be sure to notify the CM at the front desk that you have NEVER been to Pop before - or this is your first time at the MK or what.

they will give you a first timer pin (if first time at WDW) that will help alot - lots of CM will see the pin and come ask you how they can help - us oldtimers will be ready to give a helping hand too.

would put the yellow stickers on your luggage and let DME handle it.

twice (and I don't fly alot) at Orlando - the airport send the luggage to the wrong place - we waited over 3 hours for them to find it and send it back to us. DME can kept up with easier than the airport.

if it has the yellow sticker - be sure to put it where it can be seem - then it by passes the part of the airport were it can be lost (mostly) - that does not mean the airline did not lose it. - DME kepts up with what it has - so if they don't have it - the airline is just telling you Disney lost it (so you won't expect the airline to find it).

disney system is pretty nice and so far no loses that I know of.

We want to thank everyone for their help... We did every thing you all told us to do with no problems...We had a wonderful time. Pop Century is a very nice resort. Unfortunately we didn't get to swim in there pools. We were in the 90's building on the 2nd. floor. Just a walk across the parking lot to the buses and to the dining court. We had a very nice room with great services. We took the dining plan and really had to eat a lot.. But we did it and came home with 8 snacks. Did the Hoop-Dee-Do and Aloha. Both great shows and food. We did all the 4 parks that they offered and road as many of the rides we could do.. We did a lot of walking and were sure pooped at night..We did have a few real cold days when we arrived Jan. 21,st. Wed. Thurs. & Friday. Then Sat. thru the time we left on the following Weds. Jan.28th. It was just wonderful. Nice and warm. Our flight coming home was delayed 2 hours due to the weather back here in New England. Bradley Airport never closes..Both flights going and coming went smooth. So again we would like to thank everyone for the help they offered us... Hope that we can help someone someday.. Best travels to all... Mrs. Mugs.:thumbsup2
Oops ~~~ I forgot to mention that we arrived @ Pop like around 11AM and our rooms were ready for us.. How lucky were we?
