Magic express tags arriving 3mos before trip?

Does this seem unusual? We are traveling towards the end of January. My dad, who lives across the state from us, is flying from his local airport. Last week, however, his ME stuff came in (to my house, but he happened to be here). Ours has not, though I notified disney about our flight info about a month later than dad's. Is it strange that his stuff is already here? I feel like a date must be wrong somewhere.

Ours came in early August for our mid-November trip. They came less than a week after I added our flight info to DME which may have been what triggered it. I posted about it at the time, and others reported receiving their DME tags and info really early as well.

Got mine early and lost them. My kids and I have been searching the house all night. DH said we can just carry our luggage but I am still stressed! We leave on Monday.

Ours arrived in about that timeframe. It's happening to some of us. Ours worked perfectly, no worries. Mine went straight into my Passporter until it was time to attach them!

Never fear. You have two options. You can claim your bags like normal, or you can have Disney claim them for you as if you did have those yellow tags. Bypass baggage claim, and go straight to the Welcome Center. From there, give the Cast Member your luggage claim tickets. They will create replacement tags for you, find your bags, tag them, and send them to your resort.

I think they normally come within the 30 day window of your trip, so I wouldn't worry.

Three weeks is the norm. But we are seeing more reports of the packet/tags coming earlier than that. I just have to wonder why your dads went to your house though. Are there two reservations, with you as the lead person on both?

For this last trip ours came 2 months before our trip...every other year it's been 30 days

There are two reservations. I made both with a TA, but he is the lead on his. I am only in one room. I just gave them our address for him.

Just an update, Dad did notice that they had the wrong airline. Right flight number, but either had us air or united, and it should have been the other way around. He called and got that straightened out today. I think he told me the wrong one when I booked it for him.

Ah, okay, that makes more sense now. If you used a TA, perhaps they just haven't received and mailed yours on to you yet. Usually, when you book with a TA, the TA gets the packets and mails them on to the clients.

If you are DVC and booked directly through ME, I can see them arriving early. Normally, the packets aren't sent out until you are paid in full 45 days prior to arriving.

We got our tags, two sets in two separate envelopes, about three weeks ago for our March, 2014 trip. They just went in the trip folder where they will sit for another 4 months and 2 days.
