Not that i like spending money however i hate wasting vacation time as well. We r staying at AK Kin and can take bus how ever last 2 times ME has been slow. i know it is a free service so i dont complain.

But if we can get to hotel like 30 mins faster by limo option it maybe worth it. However i dont know the Bus route to AK. I know that when staying at BLT or Contemp you have to go to GF then wilderness then Con or Poly etc. So that being said those that road ME to AK what was travel time etc.

Our flight gets in around noon on a Wed so traffic shouldnt be a issue.

A limo will nearly always be faster.

We use a car service. No patience for waiting! I need to get to my hotel ASAP!!! Hahahaha!

I always rent a limo now. It's defiantly more expensive :) ...but it makes the experience that much more magical and you get to the hotel so much faster.pixiedust:

We always use a car service too! It's nice to walk off the airplane, go down the escalator and see someone there with a sign with your name on it. And in about 30 minutes, you're at your resort and checking in.

May I ask what company you use for your limo service?

We get a car service. Tiffany town car every time! Saves about and hour and a halfL

We use Tiffany. Have used ME and it is a great option, but if you can swing the limo then you will be to the park much quicker on the way in AND avoid the line at check-in with everybody else that gets off the bus. Plus, you can stay at the parks later on the day of your return to the airport.

One carry on each for 9 day stay.
Off the plane at 9:25am
WL 10:15 am just in time for OFC breakfast :goodvibes

Oh, via town car that is.:thumbsup2

That is DH insisted vacation splurge!

We get a stretch from Happy Limo.

We tried ME once and H said never again -- at least not when we have our kids with us.

After behaving in a plane for 3 hours we need to give them room to stretch out and a chance to be loud! Plus, we like arriving quicker.

Forgot to mention the stop at the grocery store that comes with a Tiffany car service ride. You can make up some of the extra cost of the car service with the savings from buying groceries and drinks off-site on the way in. We ate most of our breakfasts in our room this way.

Ran across this thread 5 minutes after booking ME for our trip. And my first post after lurking for too long!

It's tempting to take a limo, does having to wait for luggage with a limo driver factor-in? Or does waiting for a bus take as long or longer?

We have others n party that will ride ME. so we can check bags though all the way! Thinking limo as we'll. just wondered if ak was first stop or not.

We use a car service. We are flying from Australia and it's a 25 hour flight from take off to touch down. I'm not waiting on a bus! It usually takes us an hour from the time the plane lands to being in our hotel/resort room

The routes can change dependent on all kinds of factors.

BTW, Disney does not staff or operate DME.
The service is provided by Mears Transportation.

Mears also runs various car van and limo services in Orlando.

Car service arriving. ME departing. Every time.

Of course, we go to Universal first, so ME on arrival isn't an option for us. But even if we skipped Universal, we'd still do the car service. I want my luggage as soon as possible.

Ask on the transportation board.

I'll bring it here. Here are my various times, from gate to resort (as best as I can remember)..,
DME.....from 55-85 mins. (Usually around 70 mins)

Car service...carry on bag only....45 mins
Car service...checked bags....60 mins

Mears shuttle....carry on....90 mins

Times with DME depend on many things. If the stars and planets align perfectly, it will take about 55 mins (walk right onto the tram, into bus line as its heading to the bus, the bus leaves as soon as you sit down and you're the first resort). Bu that seldom happens. There is usually going to be a wait along the way someplace.
I like taking a car service, but seldom do. I just don't see the value in saving about 15 mins and spending $50+. Now, if its carry on bags only? Then maybe.
