Magic Express & Carseat?

I was planning on bringing our (then 4) youngest DS's carseat to WDW but since we're using the Magic Express, can we leave it at home? It's a giant Britax and I'd rather not take it....

Yeah we have Britax's and I can understand you not wanting to take it! If you're using ME and then plan to use the WDW transportation throughout the trip, then I guess you really don't need it. We always have ours because we rent at MCO or drive from home.

You can't use car seats on the buses anyways, so might as well leave it.

We left our (then) 4yr olds car seat at home (Britax Regent, not airline approved) because we weren't renting a car while at WDW. We used DME and disney transportation. It worked out fine except for the fact that our connecting flight home was canceled after we had checked in with the airline. We had to take a shuttle van to a hotel the airport put us up in overnight. They didn't even have booster seats so my little guy had to ride in the seatbelt alone, which isn't safe. I was really wishing I (at least) had a booster for him at that point! It's one of those unpredictable things so it may factor into your decision about bringing something along. Even a backless booster would be better than nothing in an emergency. I am guessing you wanted to bring a car seat for the plane for your younger dc? The DME driver will stash it under the bus in the cargo hold for the ride to the hotel.

No. They have molded plastic seats...just like almost every form of mass transit.

Well, the DME from the airport to the resort is more cushy, think tour bus, with (as my DD ooohed and aaaahed) "velvet" seats, and (more ooooh's and aaaaah's), movie screens!, but no seatbelts....

We left DS(4)'s harnessed seat at home for the first time ever.....

No. They have molded plastic seats...just like almost every form of mass transit.

Molded plastic seats on the regular WDW Resort Transportation buses. DME buses are more like coach or tour buses, with plush, cushy seats.

In any event, you can't use a car sear or a booster on either one, so if you're not planning on renting a car, I'd leave it at home.
