Magic Express and Flight Carry On Restrictions

OK we are going in September and I am very respectful of the restrictions and am always thrilled to see security doing their job....with that said how will this all work with a baby in tow. No bottles full of water to mix with formula? I think this might be allowed??? Also if I check everything like sunscreen and gosh my makeup and stuff like that how long before I get it??? I might send a package and get it right when we arrive...I called today and they said I can get it upon arrival I don't have to wait til my room is ready and they deliver the package....anyone have experience good or bad with delivering packages and what info needs to be on the box??? Check in date and my name????? THANKS for any ideas on packing liquids AND sending packages.....

Our bags have always been in the room before us. I'd just pack everything. If you really want to right off the plane, just go to baggage claim yourself.

We just came back yesterday. If you have a baby with you, you can bring formula. I'd probably bring the sealed cans, since they are obviously sealed and it will get you through security faster. Or bring bottled water is a sports bottle that you can pop open and drink infront of them (Virgin Atlantic told someone they would have to do that when they went to fly home).

I would not suggest a can as you will not be able to carry anything on to open it with. You could try sealed bottles. My mom is in Canada and the rules are a little stricter there. She said on the lst flight they allowed a woman to carry on 2 baby bottles with formula in them in a clear plastic bag. This is what they determined her requirement would be for the flight for the baby. She was not allowed to take any more. She also was allowed 10 baby wipes in a clear plastic bag. And 2 diapers, that was it. They were not allowing carry ons at all at the time. Your ID ticket and wallet had to be placed into a clear plastic bag and your purse and everything else had to be in your checked baggage. I have heard it is not as strict here. Good luck, it does seem a little more complicated. I think shipping something ahead might be a good idea.

edited to add with ME we did have a 2-4 hour delay with our bags arriving to our rooms.

Just a thought.........my daughter is nine now.........Can you bring powdered formula in a bottle, and ask the flight attendant for bottled water on the plane? I think if you plan to purchase other items at the airport in Orlando when you arrive, that might work.

My friend bought the little packets of single bottle full of formula powder and is planning on taking a few of those and empty bottles. They will NOT let you take a bottle of water on the plane, you will have to get water from the flight attendant. The little individual serving packets of formula are pricy but she figures it is worth it for the trip if it eliminates the hastle of unmarked formula powder being questioned or what have you. From what i have been reading some airports are even stricter than others..making ppl toss out things like chap stick when the TSA site says stick type chapstick is allowed. I plan to bring nothing with me onboard but cameras, a few coloring books and crayons, and one bag with a change of clothes in it..just in case. If luggage is delayed or lost...we will have to go get some supplies I guess..but trying to think positive about it all What concerns me is that it says on the TSA site that knowingly or unknowingly bringing a prohibited item to a security check point is illegal. They can simply ask you to toss it..or they can prosecute you. It would be JUST MY LUCK to get the screener who was having a bad day you know? So better safe than sorry! I will be checking the TSA list the night before we fly for changes as well.

According to the TSA site, formula and/or breast milk bottles are permitted, and you/your child should not (TSA says you will not be required, but what actual screeners do may differ) have to drink any to prove what it is, so long as you have a child the appropriate age with you as you pass through. But the suggestions of the prepackaged single serving formulas that you mix with water later are great! My friend uses them when she is on the road for her little one. May even make it easier for you while in the parks, too. Won't have to prepare ahead of time and worry about how to keep at the proper temp without going bad. Or instead of paying extra for the individual serving sizes, do what I did with DS...either use little ziploc type bags and scoop out just the right amount into each and carry in one large bag, or get one of those little containers that has dividers in it that will hold like 3 or 4 servings in it. Just twist the lid to the next one and pour it out. Very easy!

As for everything else, why not pack a single check bag with items you will/may need (suncreen...) that you claim at baggage claim before checking in with DME and let them get the rest as usual? That's what I am looking at doing. It may take a few extra minutes to do, but at least I'll have what I need for the day, and won't have to pay extra to have it sent ahead of time.

Our luggage showed up in our room about an hour after we got there. I think the usual is 1-2 hours.

My only concern is sunscreen as we plan on hitting the pool as soon as we get there. So, I'll probably buy sunscreen in the gift shop when we arrive.

I'd bring formula already mixed and you'll just have to taste it in front of security.

I am with some of the other posters on this one. I really want as little hassle as possible so I ups'd myself a box with wipes,diapers,swim diapers, bb food, bb cereal, sunscreen, shampoo, toothbrushes, rain ponchos, goldfish and other snacks the box weighed 28lbs and it cost 20.00 to ship. I will carry one diaper a few wipes a bottle of milk and a change of clothes. The resort says our package will be waiting in our room for us upon check-in

This is the first time we are using DME we just check our luggage at the airport and they get it and take it to our room for us correct?
