So is anyone celebrating anything special on this cruise??
We're celebrating my 40th birthday! it's actually on the 4th but we wanted to do the eastern so that's why we booked this week.
I am really dying to try Palo, on our last 2 cruise we could not get a ressie and I was very disappointed. I tried as soon as we were allowed online and then tried again as soon as we boarded!

So we booked this week because it was a good value and my daughter historically has had the Tuesday after Veteran's Day off but it will also be my DW's birthday on the 13th. I believe that day we will be at sea so I look forward to doing something special for her.

We will celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary on the cruise. This is our 4th year going on a cruise this week in November and it is a good fit for us. DD10 doesn't miss too much school and the crowds are usually less. Plus, its just before the winter where we would worry about making it to port due to weather.

How has the weather been on your past cruises during that week and where did they go to?

We have been happy with the weather so far. The water has been somewhat cold at CC, 76-78, but we would go in. This is our first eastern, so we are hoping that it will be as warm as it has been in Cozumel and Costa de Maya.

We had had rougher seas going out of PC, but they have smoothed out by morning of the first day. Plus, any day on a Disney cruise I'd better than a day at work.

Don't forget- we need to get a private Mixology group together! I believe we had to have a minimum of 20 on the Wonder. We ended up having 4 groups!

Mixology is a class the bartenders give instructing how to make 7-10 different adult drinks. When you walk in they have approx. 7 different drinks on the table for each person. Mudslides, Long islands, Bahama Mamas and Cosmos are some of the prior drinks we've had. They usually will allow the class to concoct their own signature drink as well. I believe it was only $15 pp for the hour class. The instructors are very informative and funny as well....... They do offer the classes at Guest services on a limited basis but its much more fun with your new friends from the DIS!!

I am down with that. They didn't offer a mixology on our last magic, only four nights. We did a wine tasting instead and had an OK time. Was bummin that we missed mixology.

You're right, I believe they're only on the longer cruises. They offered a chocolate tasting, Tequila and beer tastings as well. Some how one of our groups even had an hour open bar for $15 pp

It was down to the wine and margarita tastings on ours and I went with wine. I retrospect, should have gone with the margaritas. They also had a whisky tasting, I skipped that because it was at 10:30pm and while I am a big fan of whiskey, it was a bit late for something like that.

I was just reading a TR from another diser from the Nov. 2 2013 on the Fantasy and her pics show Christmas tree and decor on the ship!
So excited as I had no idea there might be decorations on the ship in Nov.

She also did the mixology and the pics she posted of the drinks look yummy. Def. want to sign up for that!

They were starting to assemble the big gingerbread house in the atrium on the Fantasy when we cruised the same week in 2012. We saw them loading pallets of poinsettias when we got back to Port Canaveral in 2011. Sadly, we missed any decorating. Maybe this will be our year

We were on the magic 11/6-11/10 last year and it was not decorated for christmas. They were starting to assemble the big gingerbread house in the atrium on the Fantasy when we cruised the same week in 2012. We saw them loading pallets of poinsettias when we got back to Port Canaveral in 2011. Sadly, we missed any decorating. Maybe this will be our year

Now, don't laugh, it is just my DH and myself. He will be 71 and I am turning 65 on board on the 12th. OLD AGE PENSION….HERE I COME!!!
