Magic & Dry Dock

We know that the Magic is going into dry dock this fall. Does anyone know if there are going to be any major renovations or changes to the ship as a result? We just booked our third Magic cruise for Feb 2004, so we're interested to know what may be new and even more exciting on the ship.

The ESPN SkyBox is closing. Common Grounds (the teen club) will move into that space. A new gourmet coffee shop will move into the space currently occupied by Common Grounds. Barrel of Laughs will be replaced with a sports bar.

No truth to the rumor that they are adding a rock-climbing wall....

Don't know what Barrel of Laughs is...but, Beat Street is going to be a Cheer's style sport bar.

a rock-climbing wall would be cool, I'd love to try that, but I'm not going on another cruise line to try it though. I'm a Disney Chick!

Barrel of Laughs is the Wonder's counterpart to Off Beat, the dueling pianos bar. Beat Street on the Magic is called Route 66 on the Wonder, referring to the "night club district" on deck 3 forward. Very confusing: Beat Street, Off Beat, potato, patAHto....Let's call the whole thing off...

Thanks everyone for you information. I had heard about the common grounds move, but not about changing Off Beat to the sports bar. Just kind of fun to know.

Especially Dave, thanks for getting back so fast. You always have awesome information. Just curious, how many cruises have you been on? You have so much expertise.

Thanks again all. We're very much looking forward to sailing in February after the Magic's been all spruced up (not that she needs it) and a few new areas to explore!
